When we talk about CIC we are not talking about another Brazilian DJ who wants to be like all foreign DJs. We are talking about a Brazilian producer who built his career doing things his own way, even if it meant working a little harder. 

At the age of 11, CIC started playing in Rio de Janeiro and never stopped since. He started in the underground scene producing experimental sounds and he has played on the mainstage of the biggest festivals ever, like Ultra Music Festival, EDC and Tomorrowland, which he still does nowadays. All the major festivals, both in Brazil and worldwide, included CIC in their line-up already.
 
In his underground era, the DJ and producer signed both with the biggest and the more specialized labels at the time, having their tracks played by big names like Carl Cox. But CIC can never be confined to just one kind of music, and he wanted bigger audiences. 

His turning point came a few years later, when he played at the biggest festivals around the world in company of DJs such as Avicii, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Axwell & Ingrosso, Hardwell and Armin Van Buuren. Inspired by the most famous superstar DJs of the world, CIC started to make some of the most energetic and inspired sets himself, becoming one of the greatest in the scene.
 
After playing in many countries showing the Brazilian strength to the rest of the world, he was invited in 2013 to be the resident of Green Valley (Club collecting world titles in DJ Mag) in Santa Catarina and in 2015 he became the resident of Laroc in São Paulo, both considered to be two of the best Brazilian clubs. 

In 2014 CIC caught the attention of Universal Music Group and was the first Brazilian DJ to sign a global contract as an exclusive artist of the Aftercluv label, the electronic music label of Universal in Latin America and part of Europe. Since then, his sound kept on changing and CIC manages to stay surprising and fresh with every new launch. 

He is now working with some of the biggest producers in the world and he is one of the Brazilian DJs who most launches new signature music. He is not bound by hype, he just cares about the quality of what he creates, showing his importance both in the Brazilian and global scene.

DJ and music producer, Ely Yabu uses your music as a tool to bring emotion for the people. He draws on each track, all his talent and imagination to transmit a unique feeling on the track. His productions cover a wide range of ramifications of the current and contemporary electronic music, revealing his originality at the timbres and melodies influenced by his entire baggage of the shows.

No estado do Espírito Santo, “taruíra” nada mais é que a comum lagartixa de parede. No Rio de Janeiro, Taruíra já virou sinônimo de boa música, que mescla tradição com modernidade. Nada como uma palavra genuinamente brasileira para dar nome ao que é hoje um dos mais conceituados expoentes do chorinho contemporâneo. Esta, no entanto, não é a única faceta do grupo, que reúne linguagens múltiplas e enfoca a música brasileira e latina em geral.

Formado por Breno Morais (sax soprano e flauta), Carlos Watkins (sax tenor), José Roberto Leão (violão de sete cordas), Leandro Mattos (pandeiro) e Yuri Garrido (bateria), o grupo começou em 2002 como um trio e passou por mudanças na formação, inclusive agregando novos membros, sempre em busca de uma identidade sonora. 

O primeiro CD viria em 2007, com 14 canções já consagradas, como “Bolero”, “No balanço do jequibau” e “Pato Preto”, de compositores como Pixinguinha, Tom Jobim, Hermeto Paschoal, Guerra Peixe, Maurice Ravel, Garoto, entre outros. O músico bandolinista Paulo Sá foi o responsável pelos arranjos do trabalho independente, conferindo à obra originalidade e explorando a potencialidade nata do conjunto de músicos, em uma versátil mescla de influências. 

Grandes nomes da música instrumental participaram do CD de estreia do Taruíra, entre eles Jorginho do Pandeiro (Época de Ouro), Celsinho Silva (Nó Em Pingo D’Água), Andréa Ernest Dias (Orquestra Ouro Negro, Pife Muderno e Quinteto Pixinguinha) e Durval Pereira (Pife Muderno). O disco está esgotado e foi vendido nas melhores lojas do ramo em todo o estado do Rio de Janeiro, com veiculações em rádios de grande porte e renome, como as rádios Mec e Roquete Pinto FM.

Naquele mesmo ano, o grupo deu o pontapé inicial em um projeto que viraria sua marca registrada em Petrópolis: as rodas de choro na Praça da Mosela, onde o Taruíra se apresentou por mais de três anos. O evento começou como um encontro de músicos ao ar livre, mas cresceu e se estendeu por centenas de domingos.

Através da Lei Rouanet de Incentivo à Cultura, o Choro nas Praças foi expandido a outros locais da cidade, passando a fazer parte do lazer e da formação cultural dos petropolitanos, fomentando, ainda, o apoio dos órgãos públicos e da iniciativa privada. 

Sentindo a necessidade de uma divulgação especializada para o trabalho, em 2010 foi lançado o Taruíra Jornal, que, além de informar o público sobre as atividades do grupo, visava ao aquecimento cultural da região. 

O ano de 2011 marcou a realização de um sonho do Taruíra. A vontade de produzir um material em vídeo do grupo ganhou uma nova perspectiva sob o comando da ParaRaio Filmes. A produtora de Juiz de Fora (MG) propôs a parceria que levaria à gravação do DVD “Nas Nuvens”, com uma linguagem visual única, em uma combinação perfeita com a identidade do grupo. O trabalho tem distribuição independente, além de já estar disponível para ser assistido gratuitamente na internet.

Nestes anos de trajetória, o grupo se apresentou em locais como o Festival Café, Cachaça e Chorinho, 1º Encontro Nacional de Empreendedorismo Cultural, Jogos Mundiais Militares 2011, projeto Choro no Werneck, na Feira da Providência e no Rio Scenarium, no Rio de Janeiro; no Bar da Fábrica e no Café Muzik, em Juiz de Fora; e no Palácio de Cristal, festivais de inverno do Sesc e da Dell’Arte e no Palácio Rio Negro, em Petrópolis, além de projetos e shows em Teresópolis, Nova Friburgo, Paty do Alferes, Ipatinga e Belo Horizonte.
