A Conversation About Food

Composed in 1992, this was my first attempt at composing music by manipulating notes on a page rather than manipulating sounds on tape. 
I started with 32 notes chosen randomly, then shaped them into a composition using Finale on a Mac Classic II controlling a Yamaha DX7 and a Roland W-30.
I found several versions of this piece with different instrumentation. I may upload some of the others. This one is the "simplest" version.

Under the name MANOISECA, I composed music and created sound scores to accompany my performance work. I was commissioned by several performing, dance and theater artists to create sound scores for their work. In my 20 year artistic career, I received support from the Brooklyn Arts Council, Meet The Composer, and The Jerome Foundation. My dance and theater work was supported by residencies at BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange and HERE Arts Center in NYC.
Recently I started archiving some of my work as I've transitioned careers from creating art to supporting artists. Unfortunately, much of my work was not properly archived and has not survived.
