Impermanence is a master demo for 8Dio by Troels Folmann. The demo was created with all three volumes of 8Dio CAGE (Custom Aleatoric Group Effects). It also contains samples from other libraries, including 8W (by V8P), Hybrid Tools 1 & 2 by 8Dio and Adagio Cellos.

The premise of the demo is based on Buddhist concept of: "Impermanence" - the notion that nothing truly lasts forever and everything is in a state of change, hence reflected in the music.

Data from the European Space Agency and NASA’s Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) has captured the dynamic movement of the Sun’s atmosphere for over 20 years. Today, we can hear the Sun’s movement — all of its waves, loops and eruptions — with our own ears.

This story incorporates data sonified by the Stanford Experimental Physics Lab and music from Lee Rosevere.

Fishbone: the lullaby singer, walk round the marsh and tell us a story of two free souls.
Prologue: The Jolly Hawker whistling his favorite melody walk down the road to the next town: "business went well in last town"
Act I: Somebody is calling for help. That black boy is shouting like he was chasing by the devil himself!!!
Act II: Hurra! the chains are broken, finally the Jolly Hawker and Jim escape from that malicious cotton trader.
Epilogue: At sundown and, after a good race trough the brushwood, our two friends enjoy a fresh walk along the river shore.
