the love seat, where your head rests

lifting off from the boardroom 
and drifting into endless night

as day breaks in twisted sheets 
I broke you, with other men 
they swing right in 

On long flights of great unrest 
as sleepers in dream confess 
you write me, a letter meant 
to wipe the slate 


Oh the floorboards speak too soon

You’re gambling nights 
wasting your days 
at the penny arcade

laughing at the shadow

The canyon calls
