Recorded in several locations, including Mads’ flat, one of Mum and Dad’s laundry rooms, and Sublime Studios in the Waitaki Valley, and produced and mixed by Mads, “Skyline” captures the expansive sound and emotional honesty that have become Mads’ hallmark. The track blends both unconventional instruments including the use of a heater as percussion, with chopsticks as mallets, and a washing machine, and conventional instruments including jangling guitars, dreamy harmonies and pulsing basslines — a modern indie anthem with echoes of psychedelia and 1990s alt-pop optimism.

IR1S (Intelligent Recognitive Integrated Sound) is an alternative band electronic music project where the central characters in every song are women. Each track tells a story, explores a social issue, or expresses a thought from the perspective of these protagonists, weaving together elements of both fictional narratives and real-life experiences. Drawing inspiration from strong women in literature, cinema, and dystopian worlds, IR1S creates a unique soundscape that blends powerful storytelling with evocative electronic beats.

I'm a lyricist with hundreds of copyrighted song lyrics written. I write in different genres. Pop, Country, Surf, Car songs, Love songs, Inspirational, Silly, Sad isolation ones too. ASCAP member. "License To Quill" Looking for any musician/ band  or label that might be interested in working with me to develop any of my songs.

Mads Harrop is a singer-songwriter, composer and musician from the Waitaki Valley in North Otago, New Zealand. Her first song Contagious World written during lockdown in March-May 2020 went to number one on the New Zealand student radio Music Charts. Her Songs are joyous and poignant and have garnered a lot of critical acclaim. The Mads Harrop Band has supported local and international acts such as The Chats, Reb fountain, Ha the Unclear and many others. Mads writes songs that are mostly about the challenges she faces, and ideas to do with Neurodiversity (she has Autism, Anxiety and Tourette Syndrome}. In between Gigs, work and play, Mads is an Honours (Music) Student at University of Otago. An original song writer who strives for an authentic sound using analogue gear to highlight her love of vintage instruments, effects and of course, style.
Mads was suddenly struck down with severe Tourette’s at 19, and her heroic battle to keep her life on track is inspirational. Her songs are often a testimony to her love of music and her commitment to overcome life’s hurdles. She is currently working on her first EP that will be released in August.
