I am SaVageThatOG email SaVageThatOG@gmail.com DeVon “SaVage”Young was born April 15,1992 in Olympia Washington. Soon after he would be traveling state to state; Between Boston,Massachusetts Kansas City, Missouri, Tatum, New Mexico, and San Jose, California with his biological father Raymond Martin. His step mother Lisa Martin was a traveling Radiologist while his father was a striving rapper who went by the name Bigg Trubb. At a young age SaVage was fascinated with Hip-Hop. His father made sure he listened to the greats; Like 2pac, IceCube, W.C, Snoop Dog, Eightball & MJG, Tech N9NE, Nas, and many more. His father being relentless about having a son who made music like him, was quick to help SaVage write his first rhyme titled “Young Playa D”. SaVage was forced to rap in front of his dad's friends, sometimes all night until he got it down. He knew that by impressing his father's friends that he would be proud of him, which was all he ever wanted. While looking for Christmas presents one year, he found a pipe and an odd substance, then decided to confront his father about it. His father apologized and told him that he would never do it again, but continued disappointing his son after. SaVage was then sent to live with his mother Apryle Young in Memphis Tennessee.  Growing up in Memphis was hard, he dealt with being bullied for not having named brand clothes and being light skinned. Going from South Memphis to Orange Mound things didn’t get any easier for him; He lived in one room with seven kids and two adults with a wall that they built, even though it wasn’t much, it was home for years to come.  Apryle fought to get through to SaVage never giving up on her son. She showed him a poem she had gotten published titled “Have You Ever”, he was astounded by how gifted his mother was. She explained to him that rap was just poetry accompanied by music.  From that moment on he used poetry to express himself, quick to impress everyone around him. Soon writing was all SaVage wanted to do classwork bored him. SaVage didn’t often do classwork, so teachers often thought he didn’t pay attention. But every test given to him, he passed with advanced scores. Although due to other issues SaVage was kicked out of school for fighting.  Being the odest of his mothers 9 children, plus the other 8 on his dads side he’s older than came with a lot of responsibility; Such as watching his siblings while his mother worked, but felt angry because he didn’t get to do what most kids did. He started recording music but eventually he had enough of the responsibility to helping to raise his siblings, he decided to run away.   Returning to Washington, SaVage learned quickly that his father was no longer the man he once knew. The man he once looked up to was now an alcoholic and an active drug user. SaVage was introduced to some of his dads friends that made music. Eric “E mills” Miller and Jason “Yak NastyThat Nilla” Jones. After showing them what he can do, they were both very impressed which lead to his first show in Oregon with Yak Nasty That Nilla.  He now performs with fellow artists KI$H who he also met through Yak in their former group “The NorthWest Weirdoz.” SaVage and KI$H both focus on telling stories about their lives trials and tribulations. Their first song together was titled “Product Of The Struggle”. It was a very heartfelt and powerful song. You can now catch  SaVage and KI$H doing shows all over Washington
