This month podcast number 3 we have an exclusive mix from forthcoming EarToGround artist Rove Ranger. Based in Stuttgart Germany he first came on the Radar with his release on Lobster Theremin. Actually I got to thank Voicedrone for bringing him to my attention. 

He has a fast, varied, classic approach to Techno and an extremely talented way of moving through the elements. The production levels are high. 

On top of everything he also an absolute pleasure to work with which always helps.

His debut release on ETG is set to land late summer so be sure to look out for it.

This week we are joined by Comrade Winston, who played an insane closing set b2b with Vromo during ANTIDOTE in Radion last December. When asked about this mix, he answered:

‘This mix is a reflection of how I am currently drifting back towards the two fundamentals that formed my focus when I was just starting out DJ'ing, nearly 11 years ago. The first being my attraction towards a more hypnotic style of techno, in terms of composition and an ‘abstract’ approach to sound design. The other is my interest in playing vinyl only sets, and using an array of transition and mixing techniques available to that specific medium, both appropriate for the tracks that are playing and the current momentum of the set.’

Fadeface, is a distinguished DJ and Producer based in New York. Over the past decade, he hasmeticulously honed his craft in the modular techno domain. Drawing significant influence from the minimal techno movement of the early 2000s and 2010s. Fadeface’s sound is ablend of polyrhythmic textures and hypnotic soundscapes laying over a deeply groovytechno rhythm. Renowned for his compellingly groovy and multilayered sets, Fadeface has been celebrated at venues and parties such as Unter, Locked groove, Basement and the Timewarp music festival. Prior to his dive into underground electronic music, Fadeface’s educational journey began at New York’s electronic music production school, Dubspot. One of his more influential professors, Abe Duque, was pivotal in his adoption techno music and of modular synthesizers—a hallmark of his production and live sets to this day. Ten years later, Fadeface went on to establish his own vinyl label in 2020. The establishmentof his record label, Lemos, marked a significant evolution in his career. Initially a conduit for his own creations, the label has since expanded its focus to feature a curated selection of artists. These artists, much like Fadeface himself, are committed to pushing the boundaries of techno with their timeless and innovative music. Lemos is a reflection of Fadeface’s ambition to redefine techno music, fostering a space for artists who share his passion for a fresh, yet classic, approach to the genre. Fadeface, continues to make his mark on the techno scene, inter twining his innovative musical vision with the operation of his record label, Lemos. His journey reflects a remarkableblend of artistic flexibility, forward-thinking, and impactful contributions to the ongoing evolution of the club music ecosystem.
