WAKE UP FOR A NEW LIFE

Calm & Steady series

- short tracks of dance music

All tracks were uploaded between 11/2020 and 03/2021, mostly in 2021, with the following older exceptions:
. . - yot "Unforgettable Moment"(#14): 4 years,
. . - Antinex "Haunted"(#19): 12 - 23 months,
. . - Interplain "Rain"(#15): 9 months,
. . - Upset The Rhythm (Sleeper & Snake - 'Reach Out')(#5): 6 months.

The other series (short tracks) so far are:
- "Hard-Fast-or-Nasty" (more intense/abrasive)
- "MiddleLane", and "Superdance" (the middle, or ambivalence)
- "Funky-Dub-Trap" (terminology conundrum)
- "Fantaisies" (for professional dancers only)
- "Minimal"
- "Dark"
- "BreakB-Jungle-DnB"

There is little overlap between them, mostly between: *
. . A) MiddleLane, Superdance
and
. . B) all other series

* Increasingly there is some overlap between "Calm & Steady" and "Funky-Dub-Trap", and between a bunch of others (Dark, Minimal, ...). I'm trying to keep it to the minimum, the overlap, tracks finding themselves in more than one playlist

This is the opening track from my debut EP called “The Dakota EP.” I wrote, sang and played all instruments on this album. When a remix contest was organised for my friend Anna B May's lovely ambient/cinematic track "Wanderer"  I didn't hesitate to take part, as it's easily one of my favourite tracks of hers, with a lead melody that could haunt you for days. 

I decided to go way out of my comfort zone with this one, and do a trancy remix. Definitely something new for me!

That being said, I hope there's people that enjoy these sounds, and I definitely had a blast remixing :)

Vibe on the tide

I have a lot of faith that people can be strong enough to recognize where they have done (or are doing) harm and make sincere amends. I also believe that people have the power to heal and forgive wrong doings. It takes great strength to walk together through the fire of our pains and come out the other end holding hands, recognizing and honoring our differences while acknowledging and celebrating our similarities.  

May everyone get a chance to break bread together, enjoy some wine, and share some laughs. 

Thanks again to Calebass, Jon, and Janine for joining me together on a 3rd track. We make a great team! It was really fantastic to have Chris O and Belial Pelegrim finally join a track on my page. Chris O and Belial are two SoundCloud legends in my opinion. I am so grateful to be making music with all my favorite people. If only I had more time to make music with all of my favorites on the cloud. Who knows, maybe I do!

And massive thanks to Russ and the Chaos Cookhouse for baking my bread in their oven once again. If it wasn’t for them, I would only be serving balls of dough.

Track shows a very delicate theme and a quite hard-riffed part, both alternating and finally flowing up to an endless symphonic dream (words are half a poem I wrote previously (not these, but lyrics below)).
