The track evokes some kind of a bittersweet feeling and tells the story of a broken relationship. The arrangement and the production sounds more modern. At the center of this composition is a closely miked grand piano which is the foundation of the track. As the track progresses it introduces a beautiful string section aswell as a solo cello and violin playing a touching melody. What Once Was

A Solace

This is one of my favorite songs from Chris Cornell.  While the lyric seems to focus on despair, the music itself feels transcendent and even comfortable in its dissonance.  I made this arrangement to capture as much of the original emotion as possible.  It works quite well for solo guitar.  Enjoy!

She has been a great scientist. At the same time she's maintained hers humanity.
Astrophysicist who explained her research on the stars in plain language for the public and who championed civil rights in her native Italy.
