M&D Collaborations

Hej people,
this gig at Velvet Soup was wonderful, because of the wonderful crowd that came out this morning, but it also may have been one of the most chaotic gigs ever :D It started with my live computer failing on me, so I had to quickly copy the tracks of my set onto my USB so I could play the Set I prepared on CDJs. "Luckily" the stage had half an hour delay, because the power went out earlier due to the insanely heavy rain, so I had time to do so. With the Allen & Heath Mixer there, that doesn't have Reverb and doesnt send the Microphone Input to the DJ Monitors, it wasn't possible to add any live vocals. I wouldn't have much time to sing anyway, because I had to help set up the record players for the lovely Sutsches while playing. Didn't really matter though because the recording failed as well anyway. I rerecorded my set though (without the one time the CDJ got briefly unpowered), so I could still share all this new tunes with you guys <3 It includes some new collabs with @sydkasd , @ueberhaupt_ausserdem and @monolink and remixes for @temple-tears, @hannesbieger @guylalibertedj @soulofzoo and @kon-faber & Javid

I was working as a stagemanager on wednesday and we decided very quickly, not to close the bar and have another two hours of dancing together in the magic of the first night. :)

Better late than never: Happy to share my set from the Tipping Point party from 26th of April. I was honored to be on a lineup with all these great artists and enjoyed this session so much! I opened up the night and started my set at 10 already - but the club was filled up in a heartbeat - crazy to see see how fast @tipping-point-music proved it's standing, well earned!

Here comes the recording from an absolutely fantastic morning at the Creatures Corner at Mystic Creatures Festival. Played and recorded Saturday morning 5-6.30 and uploaded from a gas station on the journey home.

Thanks to everyone who was there for making it so special, for the overwhelming amount of love and kind words during and after the set and for dancing through dusk and sunrise with me.

Woaah, that was quiet intense! Thanks for all the people who danced with me through the rain, I really enjoyed this special closing at this lovely festival! 

Thanks to @sahrabass for writing and recording the lovely intro story for the set and the outro track (which we developed together for last years @bassaramusic gig - we hope to release that soon!). 

Lots of love to @iva-bodul for beeing such a good travel buddy, helping me when preparing my set, giving me feedback and drinks, dancing, laughing and everything <3! 

Thanks to all the artists which I had the fun of collaborating with (@lask_aa, @iva-bodul, @latenightjockelsession, @seniorcitizen_wav and some more) or whose work I used for my edits!

When we arrived on sunday, it was all (still) a summer(nights) dream on the island and I enjoyed checking out all the places (and especially the funky float I should do the closing on on monday). As the weather forecasts seem to manifest on some heavy temperature drop and rain, I was a little bit nervous how that will work out with the setting on/by the water.
When I woke up on monday I read the message that my gig was moved to the Creatures Corner - which was in fact the best thing that could happen to me (so for that - thanks to the weather gods ;)). I really love that stage, the crew who build it, the soundsystem and the whole setting <3!

This performance marked the finale of our festival season, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap it up. It all ended with a massive bang, and we’re so grateful to have shared the experience with all of you! 🙌✨

Najesh & Artišoko (feat. KU for the Intro) @ Mystic Creatures Festival 2024

Im fernen Hochland von Fiascanien, wo die Sonne die Gräser 🌾golden färbt und der Wind Geschichten erzählt, lebte ein Lama namens Tobi Jos 🦙. Wie auch Alpakas, Guanakos und Vikunjas gehört das Lama zur Großfamilie der Kamele. Doch wie das in families gerne mal so ist, steht Argwohn und Missgunst an der obersten Tagesordnung und jede Kamelart behauptet die beste von allen zu sein. Ein Streit, der seit Generationen schwelt...⚡️

Die Lamas prahlten mit ihrer Fähigkeit, schwere Lasten 📦 zu tragen und weit zu spucken. Alpakas wiederum betonten ihre flauschiges Fell, die Guanakos pochten auf ihre uralte Abstammung und Vikunjas betrachteten sich mit ihrem edlen Auftreten sowieso als Top Notch 🥇. 

Eines Tages, als die Spannungen besonders hoch waren, erklomm das Lama einen Felsen und begann, Klänge zu erzeugen: Tiefe, dunkle Basslines 🔊, die wie das Donnern eines nahenden Gewitters klangen, begleitet von verspielten Melodien und kitschigen Breaks. Ein Hauch von Psy schwebte in der Luft, wie der Duft von frisch geschnittenem Gras nach einem Sommerregen 🌦️. Mit jedem Beat, der genau 115 mal in der Minute durch die Täler hallte, lockte er die verschiedenen Kamelarten aus ihren Lagern.

Die stolzen Vikunjas begannen zu galoppieren, die Alpakas schüttelten ihr prachtvolles Fell im Takt 🎶, und die Guanakos nickten anerkennend – ihre Ahnen hätten diesen Sound geliebt. Zusammen naschten sie vom Colastrauch und feierten bis zum übernächsten Morgengrauen 🌄.

„Musik, meine Freund*innen,“ sagte Jos, „ist der Knoten, der uns verbindet.“ 🪢 Seitdem leben die Kamelarten im Einklang und sämtliche Rivalität ist nurnoch ein Relikt der fernen Vergangenheit.

Als Fiasco (ital. „bauchige Flasche“) bezeichnet man eine strohummantelte Glasflasche für Weißbier di Chianti der allerersten Güteklasse. Der fiascanische Flakon entwickelte sich bereits im Spätmittelalter – die Tonfässer der Antike zum Vorbild. Die Strohumhüllung diente ursprünglich dazu, das damals extrem dünnwandige Glas vor Beschädigung durch energisches Anstoßen zu schützen und so einem wahren Fiasko* vorzubeugen. 

*Kollektiv beginnt, wo Fiasko endet.
