His groundbreaking book, The Jazz Book, became an authoritative global reference on jazz, influencing listeners and musicians for generations. However, Berendt reached even wider audiences with his exploration of the metaphysics of sound, especially through his seminal work Nada Brahma: Die Welt ist Klang (The World Is Sound).

Crucially, Nada Brahma was not just a book: Berendt himself narrated and produced powerful audio versions of this material. Originally created as radio broadcasts, these recordings featured his narration interwoven with evocative music and soundscapes, bringing his ideas to life for listeners. Available on cassette (K7), CD, and later streaming and digital download, the audio releases—including "Die Welt ist Klang – Nada Brahma"—last several hours and are celebrated for making his philosophical vision accessible and immersive to a new generation. 

Berendt’s Nada Brahma series investigates the principle that the world is sound, blending spiritual traditions, science, and world music. His work offered listeners—and especially young audiences, thanks to these audio sessions—a profound experience of sound as the origin and essence of reality, demonstrating how attentive listening connects us to universal harmony.

The book "Nada Brahma: Die Welt ist Klang" by Joachim Ernst Berendt was first published in 1983. The original audio version was created as a two-part radio feature, first broadcast by Südwestfunk in Germany on November 28, 1981, reaching a wide audience and later leading to the publication of the book. The audio versions were subsequently released on cassette (K7) in the 1980s and later on CD and digital formats.
