Relaxation and Meditation

I make music for my own enjoyment. I like to control every aspect of the creative process, which is why I have never collaborated with anyone until now. However, as soon as I heard “The Piece of Wild Things” by Classical Glass, inspired by the poem of the same name by American author Wendall Berry, I imagined a voice on top of it. Philip kindly agreed to give it a try, even though the piece wasn't intended to be sung, and here's the result.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Je fais de la musique pour mon plaisir. J'aime bien tout maîtriser dans le processus créatif, c'est pourquoi je n'ai jamais fait de collaboration. Pourtant dès que j'ai entendu "The Piece of Wild Things" de Classical Glass inspiré du poème du même nom de l'américain Wendall Berry, j'ai imaginé une voix dessus. Philip s'est gentiment prêté au jeu même si ce morceau n'avait pas été imaginé pour un chant, et voici le résultat.

Quand le désespoir pour le monde grandit en moi
et que je me réveille la nuit au moindre bruit,
craignant ce que ma vie et celle de mes enfants pourraient devenir,
je vais m'allonger là où le canard sauvage
repose dans toute sa beauté sur l'eau, et où le grand héron se nourrit.
Je viens dans la paix des choses sauvages
qui ne surchargent pas leur vie de préoccupations
ou de chagrin. Je viens dans la présence de l'eau calme.
Et je sens au-dessus de moi les étoiles aveugles le jour
qui attendent avec leur lumière. Pendant un moment,
je me repose dans la grâce du monde, et je suis libre.

Душа моя, как... ты права... 
...
Давай с тобой побудем в тишине,
В той плотной тишине, 
Которой мы порой касаемся во сне,
Которая в любом профанном дне, 
Сакральною подложкой молча, скрытно
Лежит за всем - ярка и самобытна,
Неповторима, индивидуальна,
И да, не перебор - божественна... 
И просто гениальна...
...
В ней семена, зачатки мирозданья,
Любых потенциалы проявлений...
...
Святая Пустота... 
Незримый миру Гений...
...
И мы - 
Две клетки непроявленного мира,
Без глаз, без рук, не зная расстоянья...
Друг друга узнаём... 
Почувствовав дыханье...
Иного... 
Молча сказанного Слова...
...
Блеск! Взрыв! Приходим в восхищенье...
Инсайт! И снова... снова... снова...
Летят навстречу чувств переплетенья,
Струятся рифмы, чтобы за словами
Сказать, как Ты прекрасен... 
Ты прекрасен - нами...

В Твоей же пустоте рождёнными на миг
Нашедшими друг друга в виртуале,
Где пикселы не значат ничего... 😉
И всё же...

Мне эта тишина любых словес дороже...
Твой восхищённый взгляд всё мягче...
И нежней мой тоже...

И волны чувств текут по этой дрожи,
Немого узнаванья... 
Самих себя... В глубинах мирозданья...
...
Молчим... молчим... прижмём ладонь к губам -
К моим, твоим ли - всё одно и тоже...
Сияет только взгляд... и то не глаз -
Их нет...

Струится и звучит незримый миру Свет...
