I used to hate dystopian fiction like Blade Runner, but in the last 10 years become more to appreciate the Cassandran nature of noir. Before we can get to the sci-fi socialism utopia of Star Trek, we must first learn about the obstacles.

one upon a time we went to the House of Nanking restaurant and as we sat down a quarter-pounder cockroach strolled down the counter. nobody was bothered and we stayed and ate 'cuz the food was so damn good. still a favorite and inspiration for this exotic musical dish called House of Nanking Blues.
