whilst straight into the action this intro is also incredibly gentle, perhaps creating a great false of security

i appreciate the way you you include complicency as key to the mess we are in, its a less a sense of whats done to us as what we are doing through inaction or shallow pleasure seeking

bridging here is cool, stripping out the background, keeping the narration then bringing in the percussion. Nicely done . Adds a sense of urgency

the pacing is working really well, tension and release keeping the listener involved

low end adds some good sinister undertones

each time the music shifts perfectly to back up the message

inspiring work, I think u have nailed the mix and arrangement. Great flow to the narrative from explanation, warning, questioning through to the hopeful epilogue

In Anglophone countries, the song is best known under the alternative

the name of a Japanese hot-pot dish with cooked beef.
The word sukiyaki does not appear in the song's lyrics,
nor does it have any connection to them; 
it was used only because it was short, catchy, recognizably Japanese,
and more familiar to English speakers.
A Newsweek columnist compared this re-titling to issuing "Moon River"
in Japan under the title "Beef Stew"

This song was famous also by Kyu Sakamoto’s whistling

The English-language lyrics of the version recorded by « A Taste Of Honey »
in 1980 are not a translation of the original Japanese lyrics,
but instead a completely different set of lyrics
arranged to the same basic melody.

It was four or five years now that I didn’t sing and record the songs.
I was sung and recorded one in 2022 and one recently in April 2024
and  this one today. The voice is not quite there…
I need to rework my voice.

When I was a little, I often hummed this song…
I sing in English, it doesn't sound the same as in Japanese.
But I try not to damage the song too much. The melody is very pretty.
I’ll try my best for the next time to sing in Japanese.

Unfortunately, the connection has dropped, and we cannot be sure what is happening in the apartment where, at such a late hour, the light is still on. Probably nothing; they’re likely watching a film or reading a book. They might be projecting their reactions outward, and what we see could therefore be nothing more than the reflection of someone else’s nightmares — or dreams. Certainly, we have now reached a turning point: nothing can any longer be regarded as real, or the opposite... (all talk!).

This is the fifth in a series of eight easy, acoustic, rather short, and deliberately inconclusive tracks, assembled by combining new ideas with reworked older material, adding parts and sounds along the way.
