From Auckland, New Zealand, Ctrl Freak is a self-produced project by Richie Bennett.

The music shift between a contemporary-metal dense wall of sound, raw aggression and manic energy, to electronica and ambient soundscapes. 

With a background in music production and contemporary arts, a conceptual and considered approach to sound is very evident. There's a sense of an eclectic, all encompassing energy - a kind of structured chaos.

Fictional Response originate from the North Shore of Auckland, forming in 2010 after meeting around a poker table, the band has gained a large underground following. The four piece lineup consists of drummer Shaun Malyon, guitarist Tim Gainsford, bassist Daniel Malyon and vocalist Richie Bennett.

The music draws from diverse inspirations, creating a fusion of crashing metal elements and sonic juxtapositions of ambiance and energy.
