Thee Comet Allotment: The greatest improvisational drug-pop group of all time.

Righteous, visionary, humble and operating only for a self-imposed 10-month period in 2006, Thee Comet Allotment were a 100,000% focused hydra-headed psychedelic travelling musical unit of mythical proportions.

Ranging from anywhere between two and six members at a time, they formed around a shared belief in experimental living. In their 10 month lifetime they each learned multiple musical instruments from scratch and partook in the the kind of sustained experimental drug use that only true kings have the stamina for.

Initial recording sessions in their small workshop soon expanded into full-on improvisational field recording events as the band focused on visiting the finest natural spaces of Fife and filling them with beautiful sounds, ugly yelping and hunners of dope smoke.

From the psychedelic childlike daydreams of the Live In Windygates EP, through the long- form mantras of Who Made The Rice & Sappy Journey, to the dense & environmentally concerned Sunsplash single/dvd/boxset, Thee Comet Allotment never settled for anything less than white-hot unconsciously holy mung-pop.

The single most relentlessly creative band in the history of Scotland, they made full percussion sets from shingle and driftwood, fashioned strange discordant wind instruments from broken rifles, manipulated mini-digeridoos into bizarre mouth drums.

Through song, they invented and documented a whole mythology around their drug-induced vision of Sundh, a giant mammoth man who served as the band's muse and they improvised many hymns to him.
Later they recorded a full album about how one of their members was the newest son of God, entitled "I'm The New Jesus In Town".
 
But through all this, they never strayed from their crystal clear utopian musical vision and the simple joys of traditional drug-pop, which the band may have actually invented.

A tag team duo locally sourced from Columbus, Ohio, foi oi oi and What the Bleep are two selectors spicing up the dance.  With their roots marinated in the jungle, their flavor includes a spread of multi-cultural bass-heavy genres. They energetically work turntables while rapidly adventuring through a palette of sounds. The menu today includes a cornucopia of rhythm— bass notes smoked slow and low until tender, a side of chopped breakbeats curried with an herb garnish, finished off with rich vocals. The aim of the "foibleep experience" is to serve a full-bodied blend of organic beats and positive vibes by using only the finest ingredients.

Since 2004, foi oi oi and What the Bleep have jointly attended Movement (aka the Detroit Electronic Music Festival), spreading their music as "brothers". In honor of that tradition, they annually release the groundbreaking mixtape “Feelings for Detroit”, a mix widely-popular for its multiplicity of sounds and technical mixing. The mix has become the duo’s most treasured creation, from the fluid "Top Mix of 2012" (RaggaJungle.biz) Volume 6: Water Sound to the 54-track dancefloor-focused Volume 7: Conquering Dandelion to Volume 8: Under Mi Sensei in a kung-fu style.

Around the world in 44 tracks, Feelings for Detroit Volume 9: Number One encapsulates and unites the many rhythms of our Earth. The story begins with two children hammering away at a xylophone in an open field, creating their orchestral masterpiece. Their percussive patterns evolve, just as the foreseen world, from the natural to the digital and fly you through the Ivory Coast, Australia, Detroit, UK, Argentina, South Africa, Brazil, Ghana, Israel, Jamaica, India, Outer Space, Da Club, Japan, and Cuba. Dear listeners, Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to listen in. We really do appreciate it! I'm Norbit Weatherview and I have lived in Scotland all my days. I have been fortunate enough to spend my retirement years pursuing my love of traditional Scottish music along with my excellent friends Janice, Callum and Gordon who play with me and are also retired. This "page" will be a place where we can "upload" our songs that are all performed live in Orrin Falls public bar every open night (Thursdays.) We ran a bit long the first time so got limited to one song but hope to remedy that next time we get to borrow the "DAT Recorder" from my nephew Inness...very hi-tech speak - I apologise! 

We play mostly for a laugh but think I could see myself doing this for a living (if I weren't of a certain age!) as I have always loved music and Scotland and I think my enthusiasm comes over or so I've been told. The first song featured is a brief look at all the fantastic places you can find water.
