Growing up the daughter of a member of the Drifters (a popular 50s-70s American doo-wop and R&B group), having a mother who briefly sang in an all female group and being the youngest of 5 siblings Yazmin grew up surrounded by all genres of music.Although she is influenced by artists such as Dionne warwick, Jasmine Sullivan, and Jennifer Hudson, Yazmin is proud to have developed her own style flipping hip hop songs and making her own print on them with her melodic voice and uncontested melodies.Passionate and determined she is looking to make waves in the music industry with her raw, uncut and honest approach on tracks (industry and original).To date she has performed with numerous local artist through out Virginia, North Carolina and New York, she has won open mic contest all over Virginia and New York, she has also done a few shows in baltimore, she has performed at the good music festival in hampton Virginia, A'fram Fest 2008 festival ,the Soul fest in Virginia beach virginia, harbor fest in Hampton Virginia, the Virginia walkathon in 2008, The Flyin Fishbone 2009-2010, Desmond’s tavern,with the soul rebels band in New York city 2010, she had a part in an off broadway play titled “What About Your Friends” 2011,opened up for Little Mo at Mangos in Norfolk Virginia 2011, "Who’s Got Next" event at a well known venue called "The House" in Norfolk Virginia 2011, she was a guest performer at Showmann's a well known venue in Harlem New York, she has performed (and been asked to return) at "Sapphire Lounge" for their open mics which feature special guest each month like Dj Red Alert and Tai Allen. Manahattan, N.Y. 2011-2012, she participated in the 2012 500 Hundred Men MAking a difference Obama fundraiser in Brooklyn which generated a little over 12,ooo dollars, she was personally greeted and thanked by Brooklyn's district leader Robert Cornergy, She was asked to perform for "District 35" city council woman Letitie James for her 2012 fundraiser and received high praise for her performance, she has been a featured artist for one of New York City's most prosperous open mics "R&B Love Jonz" hosted by renowned NYC promoter Adante Ace and Tastemaker events at Santos Party House Manhattan, N.Y.2012-2013, she was hand picked to perform at their mini concert which featured other artist such as singer "Gaetano" and rapper "John Brackett" both artist are already on the air waves and have a big buzz in the industry. she has proven to be good enough to share the same stage as these amazingly talentented artist at Tammany Hall. May 2013.She's opened for former Rockafella artist Freeway at his Deliver The Order concert at Longhorn 51. Queens, N.Y. 2013, and she had the pleasure of singing backup for Rachel Walker another NY native artist on the rise (who has made the billboard 100 charts last year as new artist on the come up to look out for) at the Shrine. Harlem, NY 2013. her most biggest achievement was performing on the world renowned Apollo Theater stage in May 2013 and was recently featured on Donny Klang (FROM MTB seasons 3-4) DJ'S website (WWW.DJSWIVET.COM/YAZMINSOUL) since then she's gone on to work on her mixtape titled "Yazmin's Turn" (CROWD CONTROL) which she will be releasing later in the year. She is also working on a curvy girl line being that she is plus size she knows how hard it is for a woman of a certain stature to break in the entertainment industry. With Her soulful style and approachable manner it has earned her a following in New York and Virginia and surrounding states. she is truly a star in her own right looking to make a print in the music industry without having to change who she is inside or out. So... I'm a work in progress. I don't always enjoy the process but I love life & learning how to love myself more and more. You'll find that I 
 changed my name a while back... and then... changed it back... without a last name ^___^ I had a period of self reflection/Sankofa. I had to find my true self to be able to fulfill my duty as a healer/creative/student of life/one day parent/example/leader. So I changed my name back to something original for a while (Kris: if you know you know) and then, once more claimed the title T'nah AKA Tea. Now, We're here.
