Timmo’s debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ carries a flow through out that gives Timmo his own unique sound that has captured the ears of many highly revered techno DJ’s around the world. Timmo uses hypnotic sounds and phrases whilst he always maintains a thumping techno beat that underlies all the tracks within this EP to maximum effect. Furthermore, there is a ghostly feel amongst Timmo’s tracks that really provide him with his acquired sound, the pads in ‘Canvas’ are a beautiful reminder of this. Timmo also uses strong synth stabs to full effect that juxtapose against the drums to help create the tension and aggression that is present within techno.

A no-nonsense Techno release by 2000 and One entitled “Rambik EP” contains 3 tracks on both vinyl and digital format. Dylan draws his inspiration for this release from the Dutch word "Kattegat" which find its heritage way back in the 8th century when the Vikings first set sail and reign down to conquer West Europe. Kattegat is that narrow passage in the Baltic Sea that connects Scandinavia with the North Sea.

Luigi Madonna returns to Drumcode a year after his superb single ‘Primo’ using familiar hooks, huge stabs and monstrous drums that storm across the dance floor which, are common with Mr Madonna. The hard hitting raw vibe of this EP gives Luigi an edge, with fluttering high’s and saturated lows, Luigi’s tracks are a mainstay in all DJ sets. The EP encompasses different emotions throughout that can be felt within the track ‘Singer One’, offering a more mellow side to Luigi’s already expansive catalogue.

Continuing a prolific run this year on Figure, veteran German producer Johannes Heil launches a new alter-ego with 'Cryptik'. Combining his trademark darker techno explorations, with more positive, uplifting melodies, Cryptik offers a yet-unseen take on Heil's sound, always versatile, always breaking the mold. 

From thundering bass energy, a floating chord structure emerges in 'Source Code'. Underpinned by massive, solid drums, its ambient melodies create the perfect juxtaposition and a distinctive, curious creature is born.

Fully embracing broken-beat electro vibes, 'Back Door' takes us to an alternative dancefloor where sneaky dubbed-out fx and stirring emotional synths set a killer late night scene. Classic Detroit melodies meet the cold winter streets of Berlin in this rare example of Heil's alternative side.

'Phantoms' completes this first taste of the sound of Cryptik, in a cinematic interlude or 'incidental' piece, that represents purist techno just as well as the either of two beat-infused tracks. Its all in the mood, the atmosphere, and the textures. Cryptik = Techno Diversity!
