Figure arrives at its 60th release with label mainstay Markus Suckut. The young German producer's sound easily represents some of the most focused, intense and immediate techno around, and he continues his fine run of form with three unique tracks on Figure 60.

Over nine minutes 'Abandonedt' graces the A side in a snaking, intense industrial journey perfectly set up for moments of high drama. A throbbing, acidic bassline winds itself around the central axis of the track, with washes of rave-inspired pads adding extra momentum.

A more reduced affair, 'Corp' is classic Suckut territory. Giving the DJ room to work, while providing an incredibly solid backbone of mysterious psycho-funk, Markus takes us deep into his dark, loop world of submerged sub-sonics and rattling percussion.

The slower paced, dubby vibes of 'March' complete the EP as an addictive filtered vocal sample emerges amongst sharply snapping snares and fluffy hats. Bringing out the magic in the groove with only a few elements, its yet another masterclass in modern minimalism.

Soma welcomes back longtime affiliate Arnaud Le Texier as he drops yet another storming 4 track release on the “Substance EP”. Arnaud has been one of techno’s most prolific producers and this latest EP demonstrates his unique ability to deliver consistently high quality, dance floor orientated tracks.

Title track 'Substance' is packed with groove and attitude from the outset a Le Texier drops an intense percussive workout to kick things off. 'Magnetic Tape' goes deeper with cutting stabs providing the depth throughout the track. 'Space Funk' brings yet more depth but with crunching and powerful drums pushing out high intensity vibes. 'Orexis' closes out the release with a looping and hypnotic sequence once again backed by Le Texier’s signature driving, percussive elements.

It implies not just doing one's best, but pushing beyond that, enduring hardship, and seeing a task through to completion. It's often translated as "to try hard," "to hang in there," or "to stick with it".

Finally releasing a track that's been getting a lot of love every time I've played it! I'm calling this one loopy, tribal, mental hypnotic techno – it subtly bridges the gap between the deep and hard sides of techno today.

For our ninth chapter, X/Y/Secret hands the controls to Sira.

Each element arrives with purpose, opening pockets of air to breathe
just before the pressure rises again.
Both sides speak the same language while delivering different
messages. Phil Berg distills the title track into a focus-sharpening
remix, before Sira closes with a late-hour mover built to steady the
room while the lights stay low.
