It’s been a while now since dance music stopped suddenly and also it’s been a while since the Exium duo released stuff here at home. 

Héctor and Valentin have been busy in their studios during these uncertain days, extracting the best out of their minds and tools to create this four tracker.
If you are familiar with the Exium sound over the years, you can feel here a sort of comeback to their primitive roots.
The sound is harsher, more violent, the components are a chosen few but well standing in the mix, the rhythms are broken and twisted. Nothing easy for the ear.

If you push the boundaries like they do, there’s still hope in techno as a constantly new and risky journey. Totally the opposite of cloning what is done.

Ascendo relies on a broken kick surrounded by industrial noises and distorted textures. Merciless

Atheris uses again nonlinear drums as the basement, spicing the recipe with overdriven pads and abstract sonic elements.

Cyclotron is the only 4/4 cut here. A random square wave distorted synth line is the leitmotiv, joined by different layers of sonic components creating an aggressive scfi joint.

Low Pressure Discharge closes the release returning to abstract breaks as foundation, with metallic industrial hits on top.

This release is not for the tuff ones or the soft minded. Tradition and futurism all in one.

Inspired by the sound of Georgian DJ's, she focuses on deep, raw techno. Deep, In selection Luki & Nitsa looks for stimuli that the transform from spatial ballads into a fast, galloping groove.

First making noise in 2015 on Darwin’s Berlin label SPE:C with the 'Begyndelsen’ EP, Decka makes sound that journeys through bare-bones techno and bass, crafting hypnotic polyrhythmic patterns that look both to the big room industrial sound of the German Capital and the sub-low pressure rooted in his home city, Bristol. Decka’s Unterwegs imprint that he runs with The Lady Machine translates to ‘on the move’ correlating with the labels vision to expand upon the idea that music is forever changing, evolving into new territories. ‘Elimination Technique’ sees Decka invite Russian producer Phillipp Gorbachev for a remix who is known for his flamboyant live sets and productions which can be found on labels such as Comeme and his own PG TUNE label.

‘Balancing Act’ begins proceedings with undulating toughness through beastly drums and shimmering bass growls before ‘Self Evasiveness’ offers up machine-like revolving synths and energising grooves that continue to drive throughout the duration.

On the flip, ‘Elimination Techniques’ lays focus on wavering modulations underneath surging dynamism keeping this peak-time cut flowing until Phillip Gorbachev’s VDNH remix of ‘Elimination Techniques’ moves into industrial territories featuring raw, throbbing kicks and whirling bleeps orbiting around growling synthesis fiercely rounding off this effervescent EP.
