Figure 73 introduces a new face to the family - Manchester-bread and now Berlin-based Setaoc Mass. After recently launching his own imprint SK_Eleven and putting out several releases that already tread in Figure's lineage of modern, high-precision techno, the label is thrilled to get this promising new artist on board.
The five-tracker shows Setaoc Mass at his most versatile yet and clearly displays the producer's talent for constructing both strong atmosphere as well as sheer dance-floor effectiveness.
Opener Mueh is a beatless brooding tool, endlessly building upon an eery SciFi-suspense. Far less reluctant and quick to up the tempo is Solo (Part One), contrasting fierce machinery against a crystalline melody that comes sprinkling from the stars above.
On the flipside Solo (Part Two) departs from the relentless thud of its predecessor, instead opting for an oldschool electro-pattern but keeping things far out in the orbit with absorbing emotive strings. Muffled Planet Earth only trickles through the lunar mist before the bellowing horns of Numb ferociously close out the EP.
With a statement this cohesive yet well rounded, Setaoc Mass ups his game considerably and proves himself a perfect addition to the international Figure stable.

Field Records is to release a two-CD compilation of music from the label's artists old and new entitled simply, Collection. 

The first of three samplers features Acronym, Ben Buitendijk and Voiski. Acronym's track '16 Cygni' is a sci-fi bit of techno that is speedy, slick and intergalactic, whilst Ben Buitendijk offers up some Millsian, streamlined techno urgency with his 'Colourblind' and finally Voiski gets all elastic and industrial tinged with his whip lashing effort.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Yet, when you observe the star dust and cosmos against the onyx background, the colors are that much more vibrant and surreal.

DJ Bone returns to Leftroom this July with a fresh two-tracker entitled ‘It’s All About’.

Detroit’s Eric Dulan, better known as DJ Bone, is a name synonymous with the Techno scene across the globe having headed up his Subject Detroit imprint and worked with pioneering Techno imprint Metroplex since the mid 90’s.  Here we see Bone return to the Leftroom imprint following his critically acclaimed ‘Cultural Variance’ EP on the label in December of 2014.

Title cut ‘It’s All About’ kicks off the EP and sees Bone deliver a typically gritty up-tempo workout, laid out over it’s five and half minute duration with frenetic stab sequences, raw distorted rhythms and sporadic spoken word breakdown of zealous manner.

On the flip Dulan offers up ‘Tipping Point’, which retains a similar aesthetic yet employs a softer sound palette with soft chord cycles gradually blooming and retracting across its seven minute duration as the sturdy drums smoothly carry the assimilating groove.

DJ Bone - It's All About

A real melancholic number with emo arpeggiations sitting at its center, the goldFFinch cut takes on a mood swing with a huge rework from Fur Coat. The Crosstown Rebels cohorts push the affair into a darker, less dramatic area of the underground, as each element they introduce rings with scrupulous intent. It’s a tripped-out tech house tune that’s well deserving of your time.

After a stellar debut performance at this year’s Coachella festival and two years since their chart-climbing ‘Benediction’ release, Hot Natured unleash new material for Emerald City with the anthemic ‘Off World Lover’ remixed by Will Clarke.

‘Off World Lover’ rides the path between discerning house anthem and enduring pop classic beautifully, the subtleties of Ali Love’s vocals masterfully executed amidst Hot Natured’s trademark futuristic analogue sounds. The labour and evolution of the band is evident in its simplicity and matured approach, and the result an instant classic. 

Rising Bristolian producer Will Clarke strips back ‘Off World Lover’ and shapes it for the club circuit through buoyant beats and voluptuous breakdowns, both set for release on Emerald City, the newest label venture from Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, on 18th September.

Arguably the biggest dance music act to break out of the underground circuit, with three well-acclaimed singles under their belt, ‘Reverse Skydiving’, ‘Forward Motion’ and ‘Benediction’, Hot Natured are a four-piece consisting of previously established and accomplished music producers Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Ali Love and Luca Cazal. Since their debut album smashed the charts at the end of 2013 they have taken an eighteen month hiatus from releasing, burying themselves deep in the studio working on their follow up, set for release in 2016. 

The roots of Will Clarke’s sound stem from both his home town of Bristol, and his seasonal home in Ibiza, which have forged a style that fuses the best of Bristol’s bass elements with the upfront house music sensibilities of the white isle. His productions have appeared on labels such as Defected, Dirtybird, Southern Fried and he recently launched his own label, Cut A Rug.

It’s a rare moment in the life of Robert Hood’s M-Plant label when he hands over to another producer, but no surprise that he should pick Mark Broom for the next release, seeing as he’s previously been entrusted to provide edits of Hood’s tracks for the label’s 20th Anniversary celebrations (MPM19) and is currently tearing up dancefloors with his unreleased dubplate mix of Floorplan’s ‘Never Grow Old’.

The original version of ‘Stunned’ was released on Mark Broom & Dave Hill’s renowned Pure Plastic label back in 1997. The “97 Mix” featured here started as a live mix of the track, which Mark has now tweaked for maximum dancefloor devastation.

It’s accompanied on the flip side by a brand new composition of equally outstanding quality. Broom is in fine form on ‘Decay’ with his tight production skills delivering the kind of tough, raw Techno that sits perfectly on M-Plant.
