Scottish duo Clouds return to Soma after their devastating debut on the label last year with Complete Control. Once again the youngsters have served up 3 hammering tracks as they continue their attack on the Techno world, Boys On E. Terriers shows why Clouds are consider one of the most up and coming players in electronic music.

Teenage Boy opens the EP with crunching, stomping loops which over time clunk together into a tasty broken beat loop, propelling itself with rocket powered snares and hi hats leading to one almighty synth hook. The track really goes hell bound when Clouds let rip their signature rave-esq sound with images of firefights above dystopian cities as rip roaring drums are shredded by the wild, distorted synth line. 

Elevator Girl keeps things running in a similar fashion. A little more for-four than it’s predecessor but just as ferocious. Heavily distorted drums punch in, moving at lightning speed as looped out vocal cuts keep a hypnotic vibe. Pure punishment is the order of the day with Elevator Girl as clanking percussion bounces around the track while pulsing samples wail their way in the background. Not for the faint hearted.

The imaginatively titled Genista Cave 4 rounds of the EP with yet more full on abrasive sounds from Clouds. Stuttered vocal cuts sit over a thumping loop and the tracks rolls quickly into full swing dropping quickly into full on kick drum mayhem slaughtered by rattling percussion. 

The two little terrors are carving their way through Techno at the moment with their cacophony of distorted beats and ferocious production skill.

Pan-Pot at Awakenings Festival 2014, Day Two (June 29th)

Adam Beyer’s new EP titled ‘Teach Me’ is an accomplished piece of work that highlights Beyer's year thus far. 'Teach Me' starts with some eerie chords before the distinctive vocal kick in and the track drops into a rumbling techno track. ‘Darlek’ uses rhythmic beeps and huge synth stab to create a funky rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting for this incredible techno track. ‘Stop Talking’ is a deeper offering from Beyer using weird and unusual noises to create and interesting piece of work that is helped along by the throbbing bass underlying in the track. ‘Spaceman’ uses a rhythmic vocal, percussion and sub bass to turn this track into a funky techno piece.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Early plant explorers were convinced that the most mysterious pray-tapping pitcher plants came from Mars because they are so out-of-this-world, as is the ode to this EP.

A no-nonsense Techno release by 2000 and One entitled “Rambik EP” contains 3 tracks on both vinyl and digital format. Dylan draws his inspiration for this release from the Dutch word "Kattegat" which find its heritage way back in the 8th century when the Vikings first set sail and reign down to conquer West Europe. Kattegat is that narrow passage in the Baltic Sea that connects Scandinavia with the North Sea.

For those who don’t know, NYC-based Luca Venezia, aka Drop the Lime, aka Curses, has been a mainstay of the US avant-dance/pre-EDM scene for a dozen years – he’s also a larger-than-life figure, a kind of dandy-cum-party animal-cum-womanizer, but that’s not quite the point here. Under his Drop the Lime guise, he produced wild breakbeat music and launched the infamous Trouble & Bass, known for its raw warehouse beats and rowdy spirit. Then he created the Curses alias, which he uses to make more focused, dancefloor-minded tracks, some of which were released by our former label Institubes in the late noughties. Marble is proud to offer you his first Curses installment in four years, and it’s called "So Good". 

These two new tunes show the two opposite sides of Luca’s current musical identity. 

The title track, So Good, is a 2013 take on early nineties house, complete with sun-drenched MIDI chords, deep kick and bass and a linear yet tense and hypnotic structure. Great warm-up tool or early morning downer. 

Deep in the Night, recorded in Paris with the Marble crew is a disturbed cinematic track, coming with processed vocals, mental synths and the trademark "Ha" ballroom sound. Martial, nightly techno for the druggy hour : feel the pressure and get stronger.
