Midsummer Night's Steaming (Demo)

A collaboration between Iraqi rapper Kasper, UK volunteer and snger Fiona, Taz (Submotion Orchestra) and Ness (Allegri Quartet cellist). Kasper has been in the 'jungle' for eight months, having been forced to flee his home after receiving death threats about a track he posted on YouTube. 
The track he has produced here is on the subject of love - unrequited love. It's testament to his strength of character that he managed to record this track in this most disturbing of places and with such hurt in his heart and soul. 

Every time I see you, I get overwhelmed by sorrow,
I come to you hoping to tell you something, but I am not able to tell you of the longing in my heart,
I wish I could sit and talk with you everyday,
I am dying to be with you and my thoughts are overclouded by what is occupying my heart
I picture you being there every time.
I despair of these feelings.
My gazes reveal my secret - even my folks started to suspect. 
I hear all sorts of narratives about my passion. 'He's in love - driven by passion - seduced by deep fondness', they'd say 'your gazes give your love away - we all know the person whom you love - we all share your hopes'.
But I'd go silent, unresponsive, in denial, as if I've heard nothing of what they'd told me. I always kept my secrets deeply buried in my heart. 
Tears forming at the corner of my eyes. 
It is difficult to feel love towards someone, but not to be able to confess. This makes one even more attached. 
The days kept passing by, never to return.
O, Lord, hear me, aid me a little, I beg of you. I'm eating my heart out with love. Love is exhausting me to death. 

I talk to my love now, I begin with sad words and honest tears start to glisten on my love's cheeks. My love walks with a rose in her hand. We stood there together, but I didn't know where to start. I asked her to close her eyes and to hear my words. I said: 'I'm going to be direct with you and not beat around the bush. I am tortured by my love to you. My heart has been suffering for years. I love you, but shyness stopped me confessing my true feelings. Put yourself in my shoes and witness the level of torture my heart has endured. I hope that my agony would dissipate with you by my side. 
My love shocked me when she said: 'Forgive me, but my heart burns with passion for another. I do not want to hurt you and I hope that we remain friends', she said. 
I was dazed and in tears of hearing this reality. The love I had - spanning all these years and nights - is no more. The passion I had in my eyes had died and the hopes all but fluttered away.
