For our last podcast of the year, we are happy to welcome back Jaipa, whose b2b set with Wees at our third SKIN edition left us with some of our best memories. In this set, Jaipa showcases a more toned-down, stripped-back, and lighter side of his sound compared to his usual club performances. It highlights the deeper, hypnotic spectrum of music that defines his sets.

Jaipa's music aims to evoke emotion and sustain dynamic energy. This energy flows through every layer, from the kick drum, bassline, and percussion to the overall groove, atmosphere, and tempo shifts. His creative process is fluid and mood-driven, inspired by personal experiences as well as external influences like seasons. He approaches shaping a set like a puzzle, selecting tracks that harmonize seamlessly and build a natural progression. Each choice is intentional, ensuring every moment within the set resonates with the desired atmosphere.

When asking about important project or key moments in his career Jaipa shares: “ My residency at Orphic is incredibly important to me. Being involved since the very first rave (#001) and continuing to be part of this wonderful organization means a great deal. This residency has provided numerous memorable moments and valuable opportunities, with many more to come.”

Timed perfectly for the introspective days between Christmas and New Year it’s a beautiful moment to listen to this dreamy set. Thank you for being part of the SKIN series.

For about ten years, Uksimo has been performing under a different alias, focusing more on his live sets and releasing tracks that reflected his early, more hypnotic techno sound. Over time, his artistic journey naturally evolved, leading to the creation of Uksimo—a project driven by his desire to explore a deeper, more rhythm-focused side of techno. Today, his music is defined by his immersive, and layered atmospheres that create both depth and space. This approach can also extend into his DJ sets.

Uksimo hereby presents his latest EP, Reflection, produced in his new studio. With fresh sounds and energies, this EP blends melodies created with modular synthesizers alongside raw analog percussion and drums. Each track showcases Uksimo’s ever evolving sound with detailed production and a focus on texture and rhythms.

Reflection and Collide are musical pieces centred around strong, evolving melodies, while Point Zero shifts the focus to rhythmic intensity, featuring prominent 909 percussion and deep drum patterns. The final track, Tides, takes a more experimental turn with atmospheric, spacey and modular sounds.

PREMIERE : Uksimo - Collide

A vinyl mix recorded in sunny Chamonix Wednesday 19 March 2025 afternoon, going through the extended Knotweed discography (from 2012 to today), exploring different shades of techno, mainly on the dub, stripped-down and trippy techno side. Taking it easy and grooving between 128 and 132 bpm.
