JOHN MAUS lives in his birthplace of Austin, Minnesota. Whilst working towards his PhD in Political Science, he also composes music that taps into melancholic fantasy and affirms that we are all truly alive. Questing synthesizers, tensely strung bass lines and chasing drum machines providing the perfect backdrop for John's deeply resonant reverb-drenched vocal. Born in the decade of synth pop and sharing his birthday with George Frideric Handel, John started making music when Nirvana posters went up on every teenager’s wall. It’s this curious conflux of influences that partially helps to describe John’s music. It’s a world where the Germs jam with Jerry Goldsmith, Cabaret Voltaire relocate to Eternia and Josquin des Prez writes a new score for RoboCop. The confrontation of punk, the fleeting poignancy of 80’s movie soundtracks, the insistent pulse of Moroder and the spirituality of Medieval and Baroque music all find salvation in John Maus.

We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves breaks new ground for Maus. The shirt pulling and air punching of his impassioned live performance is finally captured in all its frenzied appeal alongside a tender inner space that wasn’t as apparent on his previous albums. It’s a record where promise takes the lead for the first time, providing a counterpoint to John’s default existential calling.

The chase is always better than the catch. The unbearable tension on a dancefloor is often one of the very best things about clubbing. Mainstay Wax:On residents People Get Real have steadily built their name as some of the best 'warm up' DJs in Europe - and they know how to do it properly. Believe us, this is an increasingly rare commodity to find in today's climate. We've spent an entire summer watching muscle bound DJs in sunglasses (indoors) give in to the throng and skip straight to the House Mafia trancecore pay off time after time, Jesus-Christ-pose, everyone with heart shaped fingers to the sky. Fuck that! Leave it to Danny Dyer.

But hey, let's stop being negative as when we say we really, really LOVE People Get Real at Kill Em All, we mean it from the bottom of our beings. They first caught our attention through an ongoing series of excellent, low-slung edits which showed the breadth of their tastes: from Madonna to The Kills, Jay Denham to White Car, every single one took the original and turned it into something which could make an entire nightclub throb with anticipation as the floor moved in unison. They've since started their own excellent record label Join Our Club and moved into producing original material, two belters of which we present to you here. A couple of dancefloor bombs taking elements from techno, taking elements from bass but, most importantly, taking their time so that when the drop comes, it's a special moment. People Get Real are a truly unique proposition in clubbing today and we couldn't be happier to have them on Kill Em All Records.

Phantom Love - B1 - Psychic June

DUST is a contemporary ouroboros of acid house, combat techno, and late italo. A collective consisting of avant garde Korean noise goddess Greem Jellyfish, psych musician/model Angela Chambers, dungeon wizard/tech genius audio engineer Michael Sherburn, and DIY nightlife entrepreneur /DJ John Barclay, they are headquartered at infamous psychedelic/art/techno mansion Trip House in the jungles of Deep Bushwick. 

DUST utilizes both vintage hardware (909, 303, Juno 60) and HD cinematic soundscapes to create a heavy, lavish experience. 

Founded in 2012 by Sherburn and Barclay, DUST was originally a dark italo project. Soon Chambers and later Jellyfish were incorporated to enliven the dark magic with their sporadic vocals, and live energy. DUST released “Past Future,” their first EP on Brooklyn’s Low Life Inc. 

DUST performed their first live set alongside Gatekeeper, Supreme Cuts, and Teengirl Fantasy at the Dustbowl, a DIY venue in Chicago, and has since performed and/or DJ'ed alongside Light Asylum, Kim Ann Foxman, Phuture, DJ Pierre, Pictureplane and Steve Summers. Also, DUST serves as resident DJs at “Tropical Goth” a monthly party at Bossa Nova Civic Club, which Barclay owns, in Brooklyn.

After releasing a critically acclaimed album and touring the world as a live act the Filthy Dukes then went underground. Disenchanted with the music scene they decided to go back to their roots as record collectors, thirsty to reignite their passion for house & techno. 
 
On a quest to discover the best dance floors, record shops and secret parties they have spent the last year creating a new sound. 

Taking inspiration from the music they discovered and having no regard for genre or labels a new chapter has began. Smarter, more honest and more exciting.

Here with a taster of what is to come is the dark brooding house track ‘Time To Let Go’ 
A new 4 track ep is set for release on 7th May. A glimpse of what's to come. 4 tracks which although different share a style and new sound. 

Filthy Dukes also released Beat The Break on the new 'Southern Fried and Tested' compilation with support from Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, Brodinski, Boy 8 Bit to name a few. 

They have recently produced remixes for The 2 Bears, Justin Robertson and Daniel Avery new single on Gomma, James Welsh on the 'join Our Club' label and Native Tounge.

Filthy Dukes are first and foremost djs who know how to work any dancefloor, with huge knowledge and vast record collections, their left field house and techno sets have been igniting dancefloors in Europe's most discerning clubs for years.
