The Innervisions cofounder reflects on the label's 20-year anniversary, the art of DJing and bringing politics back to the underground.

One of the most popular record labels in the RA ecosystem is Innervisions, and one of its most popular DJs is cofounder Steffen Berkhahn, AKA Dixon. He started the outlet in 2005 with Kristian Rädle and Frank Wiedemann of Âme. Back when RA ran DJ polls, Dixon was #1 several years in a row. We've since retired them, but Dixon's appeal remains as widespread as ever. He made a name for himself in Berlin in the '90s when he was just a teenager, spreading a melodic strain of house and techno that became the Innervisions brand and continues to pull heartstrings around the world.

This year, the label has been celebrating its 20-year anniversary, and Dixon reflects on its astronomical success on the heels of two major anniversary parties at Berghain and fabric. He also discusses how he's kept the label—and his own career—fresh and relevant; his feelings around commercial success; the importance of taking annual breaks from music and production; and his interest in reclaiming underground electronic music as a political space. On a sleepy spring Sunday afternoon in Newark we brought the heat. A day of fitness and competition resembled more of a rave atmosphere as the day went on.

Inspired by some of what we played out that day we landed here, reliving my 18 year old self cranking out some of these weapons on the trusty vinyl.
This go round we have 70 minutes of face melters which we hope would make the likes of Fergie and BK raise their hands.

Coming out of the traps with a psy-trance inspired rough cut we show a little leg before settling in with letting the legends showcasing some quality heat from 20+ years ago. Nick Sentience, Andy Farley, BK, Tony de Vit all on fire before we start bringing in some of the new players in town. Space 92, Hannah Laing, Will Atkinson and Matty Ralph all on top form.

For the old skool and the new skool there is something for everyone here, hoovers, horns, riffs, pianos, squelch, acid and hard chunky beats.

Proud of this one and one of the easiest to put together, DJ and music all of one, Stick it out!!

Hotly tipped as one of London and the UK’s most promising female talents, ELODIE’s rise from the unknown to fabric resident, is just the first rung on a limitless ladder.

A fan of deep and dark minimal and deep-tech first and foremost, ELODIE's meticulous selections always guarantee to turn heads due to their unconventional appeal. Inspired by Traumer, Silat Beksi, David Gtronic, Audio Werner, Michael James, Enzo Siragusa and many more, ELODIE’s analogue-rich performances have grabbed the attention of many with their emphatically creative approach. She has supported some of the most highly sought-after underground talents, including Sweely, Traumer, SIT, Barac, Janeret, Rossko and many more.

A mainstay on the London scene, ELODIE is a frequent fixture at the city’s most respected club spaces - including fabric, where she holds down a Sunday-night residency, Village Underground, 93 Feet East, E1 and many more. She is also known to make appearances at many of the capital’s underground parties, often playing on canal boats and pop-up sound systems in woodland areas.

ELODIE’s presence has been further boosted by the support she has received on her productions, with support from the likes of Jamie Jones, and more recently with plays at world-renowned Sunwaves festival, which has perfectly laid the foundations for a promising pipeline of releases on her own newly-established label, eloelo records.  Existing releases on acclaimed labels, such as FRAME Music and BienAimer Records, including her debut EP which charted in the top 4, have also earnt her support from fellow artists and industry tastemakers.

ELODIE continues to mature into the deserved role of an increasingly established artist - flying the flag for female talent in one of the busiest party cities on the planet.
