Those of us lucky enough have experienced the god sends of bootleggers. there was a day where bootlegging connoted murderous imagery and almost insurgency given prohibition was federal. 

Somehow in the early 00s; decades after not only alcohol had been once again legitimized but also has been fixed within hip hop as a extractor from the natural resources that black creations can prove to be for imperialist nations such as ours. 

Alcohol brands have been nothing short of havoc for the entire time the bootlegger moniker was pivoted over to people of a certain descent. Vendors doing the very best they can to get something out of nothing. never spending a single moment considering who they may be angering in whatever glass encased office likely a short train ride away. 

what were these individuals if not revolutionary.

breaking Da Bassment Demo Tape to the world was one of the coolest, serendipitous events of my life. i've been in love with the crew since i was a kid. the below blog post was my personal love letter to Da Bassment/Swing Mob, but through that i got to meet so many others who share my passion.
i've had it on good authority that some of the members have heard it, & even Timbo himself was told about the tape.
i guess the main reason i put it up at all was for the historical record, so we had SOMEthing these guys n gals worked on together during their formative years at Dahjelon Studios.

*update as of 15/09/2020:
-there are currently two separate efforts by fans to properly re-master and re-release this tape. hopefully we can have a hi-fi version of it sometime soon.
-it was recently confirmed that the girls from Sugah have re-united over the last few years (Tweet, Sue + Rolita), and are currently in the middle of releasing an EP, possibly followed by an album.
