Francesco Yates is only 26 years old but he’s already received the highest possible recommendation a musical artist could. “He’s absolutely gonna be just a huge, huge, huge pop star,” Pharrell Williams has said of the Toronto native. “But not in the way people have been thinking of pop music in the past ten years.” It’s a lot to live up to, but Francesco does, both in his songwriting and his impressively evocative musicianship.

“I really want to accomplish as much as I can with this debut album,” Francesco adds. “I want it to be the biggest thing of my generation. It may sound far-fetched and crazy, but that is the end goal. Whatever steps I can take to get there, I’ll take them. We live in a world of complication, and I just want to bring people out of that and get them to have a good time. If I can do that, then I will feel I will have done my part.”

He first taught himself to DJ post Y2K spending every weekend immersed in Chicago’s “Do you know where your children are?” era. Unimpressed with popular music, he began his obsession of collecting records of every genre and style of music from all over the world, unearthing gems for the human ear. Recognized for his mixing technique, Mo’s crafted sets storytell of deep melodies and funky house grooves leaving crowds constantly desiring more. He determined Los Angeles to be his next home where he can pioneer new frontiers of creative expression as he strives to climb the charts. He’s produced over 70 mixes and is currently working on his first EP.
