If there's one thing that not even these trying times managed to hinder is the flux of creative forces that feeds the ecosystem of likeminded collectives of which we are a proud and productive part. And, one year after our lives were upended, the web of music we managed to weave with our peers throughout the globe remains as strong as ever, simply because it is made of the most universal language devised by mankind and nurtured by the passionate participation of its components. This is how we maintained a strong sense of unity with crews such as Huntlers & Palmers, one whose members we know are deeply devoted to the same musical principles and wholly invested in the same communal values as ourselves. Those are the main reasons why we are more than happy to receive someone who's been striving to accomplish the mission of recreating those delightful moments of dancing joy with the same dedication, within or without the dancefloor. Andrew Thomson, our guest for this episode personifies all of these traits, sharing with us all the same sense of mission that nurtures all of our endeavours, now as before.

007 Callum Vass

Callum has sewn his presence into the fabric of our musical journey. We're sure he clocks in more hours than some of our casual staff, and he’s probably switched off the lights for us too. When someone as passionate about music and discography as Callum hangs out in our bar, it makes us feel like we’re doing something right.

Callum’s curations are a loving homage to his years spent travelling to Japan. Patient selections of jazz, soul, funk, and rare groove pair a 'Kissaten' experience with a "look at what I've just pulled out of a dusty crate in back-street Tokyo" humblebrag.

Callum has stayed on beyond his month-long residency to curate our Sundays as 'Rotary Connection'. Every Sunday, Callum invites a special guest to play at Waxflower for the afternoon.

After living in Berlin for 3 years I finally decided to deal with the records I'd left in storage back in California. I ended up saving about 200 12"s/records/LPs and about 35/40 7"s and bringing them back with me.

I thought it would be a fun exercise to make a mix as I listened back to stuff I haven't heard in a while. This is that exercise (with only 7"s). No real agenda, just hit record and started playing some things. Hope you enjoy :)

Hey tribe!
We had the pleasure of creating a remix for @nea-ducci, a multidisciplinary Chilean artist from Pucón. Active since the early 2000s across several projects (CHC, Yaia, Los Mono, VAN), she blends electronic music, organic textures, and visual creation. Her artistic universe explores intimacy, nature, and experimentation — from A lo hecho pecho, to the atmospheric Bosque Interior.

Her track “Sin Mi”, with its original electro vibe and a touch that recalls Miss Kittin, immediately inspired us. Guided by the strength of her lyrics and her hybrid sonic world, we shaped this remix into a melodic, rhythmic, and ethereal journey that resonates with Nea Ducci’s unique sensibility.

A big thank you to Simon Baretti for adding his guitar magic, bringing even more power and intensity to the track. Big love brother! ❤️🎸
