Athens disco production machine C. Da Afro returns once more to Hot Digits Music with another rather large salvo of uptempo disco reworks and rump shakers! Dancefloor Stories kicks things off in an 80’s synth style that you can imagine yourself pumping out of a sound system in a shiny sports convertible as it cruises along a beach at sunset. Pure Miami Vice vibes all the way! Paperclip Jam keeps that 80’s boogie vibe again with a stunning rework thats pure party starting gear. Solaris ramps up the tempo with classic disco grooves and sleek percussion, sparkling vocal drops and infectious horn action before Frank Virgilio closes the EP with is chugging, stomping house take on Dancefloor Stories, riding on tribal hearts and using that awesome baseline to its full.

Fray Bentos has been making waves for the past few years with his super funky Edits and Reworks for the likes of Katana and Alpaca Edits which picked up support from such legendary DJs such as Craig Charles over the years. This is his first outing on Hot Digits Music and what a debut it is for the Brighton based disco lover. The typically Pie-Based “Deep Filled EP” is a superb 4 tracker of quality disco sampling gear and arm raising roof raisers from the get go so there’s plenty to get your teeth into and some real bangers that will ease the winter pain and bring back fine memories of huge disco parties that we are all craving at the moment. 

A fine way to end the year. Play LOUD!

In the second hour I bring you a wonderful guest mix from Ben Connor. Ben reached out and offered to do a mix a little while back, and he hasn’t disappointed with his contribution. It’s heavy on the disco classics with some quality edits of timeless tunes, and I’m very grateful for Ben for putting this mix together for the show.
