Coming up next on Papa Records is something truly special, as we welcome The London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC) with their uplifting new single, "Rather Be" remixed by talented producer/DJ, Ayce.

As one of the most dynamic and inspiring forces in the UK music scene, LCGC is Europe's premier contemporary Gospel choir. Their sound seamlessly blends Soul, Funk, House and R&B while maintaining a powerful message of God’s love, peace, and unity through their refreshing and vibrant take on Gospel music.

LCGC has shared the stage with a long list of music icons, such as Elton John, Madonna, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Adele, Gorillaz, Blur, Nick Jonas, OneRepublic, Gregory Porter, Justin Timberlake, and Mariah Carey, and their collaborations continue to expand.

Originally from Hackney, East London, Ayce 'The Beat Junkie' is a skilled DJ, musician, and producer. His early success as a highly sought-after keyboard player paved the way to working with major artists such as The Spice Girls, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Duffy, Wretch 32, and Paul Carrack, among others.

Ayce creates a brand of house music that's soulful and funky, crafted to get you moving. Focusing on powerful, often choral-style vocals in both his original tracks and remixes, his music not only energises but also leaves you feeling uplifted.

As the title suggests, this EP showcases solo tracks from two artists - Vintage Music main man Sunner Soul and his pal TSDC - as well as a collaboration between the pair. That track, 'Feel Alright', is arguably the EP highlight - a warm, dreamy, sample rich chunk of rolling deep house bliss piled high with nods to classic US deep house and garage-house. That said, the solo tracks are genuinely tasty, too. Sunner Soul contributes the chunkier but no less sample-heavy deep house bump of 'Double Delight', while TSDC's 'It's Like That' cannily combines raw, stabbing bass and heady hip-hop vocal samples with deep and drowsy chords and tasty 118 bpm house beats.

Since debuting in 2017, Stephen Richards has notched up releases on many of the nu-disco and re-edit scene's most checked imprints. Here he makes his bow on another, Fingerman's Hot Digits music. The three Richards originals on offer sound like hybrid productions, where his original beats and instrumentation are joined by samples from vintage disco and soul cuts. There's much to admire, from the mid-tempo, break-driven nu-disco colour of 'Winter Sunshine', where mazy synth sounds, dewy-eyed female vocal samples and laidback disco guitars catch the ear, to the Italian disco-meets-Italo-disco squelch of 'Gynoid' and the layered nu-disco warmth of 'Beat Don't Stop'. Chewy Rubs reworks 'Winter Sunshine', beefing it up and pitching it up to house-tempo while utilising his favourite bits of Richards' original mix.
