Coffee Break 16

I just recorded this set for the World Club Dome in Frankfurt am Main. At this festival I started my love for electronic dance music. 
When I was 17 I had my first goosebumps listening to a song. Martin Garrix - Animals. Soon to be 18, a good friend of mine invited me to the World Club Dome. 2014, Frontstage and goosebumps the whole 2 days. 
After that I didn’t miss any World Club Dome in Frankfurt. 

I started playing in November 2020. It was an instinct that I needed to play where it all started. So this is my application for the World Club Dome. Let me know what you think about it!

This set is recorded in the north of Bali. At a beautiful villa in the morning hours. The more I continued playing, the warmer it got. With this selection of songs I definitely woke Bali up and prepared everybody for a beautiful day.

This set is recorded by a beautiful house on Mallorca. I visited some friends their and saw there house. I mean, I had to record a set there. So I did. While everyone was working I played some easy house music tunes, some Jacking House, some old school funk music in between. Hope you enjoyed! 🫶🏼

This one is really special for me! Mi más sincero agradecimiento a Jordi y Pau Marí por el trato que nos han brindado un verano más. Aquí la sesión del pasado sábado, sensibilidad, como se debe ser en la vida. Killdeer's singing style is rooted in blues, she's a storyteller. Listening to PHOEBE KILLDEER & THE SHORT STRAWS you might hear hints of Noise Rock, pounding inventive drumming, white noise, feedback, David Lynch’s disturbing climatic atmosphere, The Bad Seeds, Beasts of Bourbon and The Birthday Party. The sound is a perfect clash of raw, edgy, dirty blues with hints of industrial noise, reverb guitar, Yma Sumac’s Exotica and 60's Southern Soul.  Expect everything.

Berlin-based, Australian singer/songwriter Phoebe Killdeer, lead vocalist of PHOEBE KILLDEER & THE SHORT STRAWS, first gained attention in 2004 when she lent her powerful vocals to '80s pop ballads and reprises of new wave classics for the group NOUVELLE VAGUE. She was featured as a vocalist on several tracks on the second Nouvelle Vague album, Bande à Part, and toured widely with the group. Prior to that Killdeer offered up her singing skills to several prominent electronic artists, including Zero dB for their track "Sunshine Lazy" and Basement Jaxx, with whom she performed the song "Tonight" for their Kish Kash album.

Phoebe Killdeer’s collaboration with Nouvelle Vague continues, mainman Marc Collin providing his production skills on early recordings and releasing her new album, ‘INNERQUAKE’, on his Kwaidan record label. Produced by Matt Verta Ray (Heavy Trash), ‘INNERQUAKE’ was recorded after two years of PHOEBE KILLDEER & THE SHORT STRAWS live shows, they travelled the world honing their powerful sound and undeniable energy, Phoebe’s distinctive vocals and a killer live show have transfixed audiences across the globe.

PHOEBE KILLDEER & The Short Straws - The Fade Out Line

Detroit's legend TERRENCE PARKER's GOSPEL WORKOUT MIX (2012).

In 1998, Terrence Parker created a series of Mix CDs know as the "Classic TP Mix" volumes in order to push forward the music he adored while at the same time displaying his skills as a DJ. 

In 2002 Terrence released The Gospel Workout Volume # 1 Mix CD.  This mix continues to encourage people around the world by spreading the message of JESUS CHRIST through a unique blend of Gospel House, Inspirational House, and Uplifting Vocal House Music.  

This was a classic mix that really inspired us and shaped the way we dance and listen to music.  

We saved it and posted it many years ago to share some of the magic we love to some of the heads in Sydney. We hope you enjoy, if you are feeling the vibe be sure to check out more of Terrence Parker's mixes online as he pretty much owns this GOSPEL HOUSE sound.
