While Finn Wolfhard is known for his acting roles in Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” and the two recent “Ghostbusters” reboots, music is his first love. Most recently, Wolfhard has played in the alternative rock duo The Aubreys, alongside drummer Malcolm Craig, and today, is sharing his solo material with the world. In this exclusive commentary, Wolfhard talks about the making of his debut solo album, ‘Happy Birthday,’ which was released this past June via AWAL. The album grew out of a self-imposed challenge to write 50 songs by the end of 2022. It’s “always been something that I can control,” Wolfhard says. Certain themes emerged — nostalgia, loneliness, anxiety — but the music is joyful pop-rock. Several tracks, like “Crown” and  “Trailers After Dark,” were written in the attic of his childhood home in Vancouver. “I missed being a kid,” he tells SoundCloud. “Still do.” Listen now.
