Recorded during lockdowns largely remotely, Fin Raziel’s new album Curse These Metal Hands is a genre-hopping piece setting grounded themes such as growing old, losing trust in authority and loss against contemporary sci-fi and technological horror. 

“We wanted the album to be a compendium of all the things that are meaningful for us and our experiences throughout the lifetime of playing together, such as references to favourite TV shows, games and books; with nods to other music we’ve loved”. 

Curse These Metal Hands tells a story of a world driven to apocalypse by a mechanical uprising and the attempts of humankind to resist, only to fall victim to their own corruption. Opener “Upgraded” dabbles in electronica and psychedelia, moving through heavier melodic metal in “Scream” and “Hellstar” and closing with symphonic synth-rock pieces with big sing-along choruses in “Dying Sun”.  “Steel Blue Sky”, “Sphere” and “Ozone Masters” cover a more traditional pop rock frontier with future single “Entangled” a softer, laid back more acoustic-driven approach. 

“Although we were keen to make the album a cohesive whole that tells a story; each song inhabits it’s own tiny world that has a distinct colour and feel”.
