Simplicity, warmth, authenticity... these are among the musical values that the mountain dulcimer embodies. 

The mountain dulcimer is a uniquely American instrument that lends itself well to acoustic genres including folk music, traditional hymns, and international/world music. It is a bridge between the Old World and the New, the ancient and the modern, and my musical repertoire (both instrumental and vocal) reflects such fusions.

My dulcimers are heralds of quiet joy, healing, and life well lived.

Ben Morris is a composer whose music tells unconventional stories and crosses genre boundaries. He is Assistant Professor of Composition at Stephen F. Austin State University.
