Patricia Wolf has said of her original piece: “Cellular Chorus is a work of spatialized aleatoric music using smartphones to bring people physically closer to have an interactive and collective experience with light and sound. The piece is played by each user visiting Cellular Chorus on their smartphones. … The sounds I made are meant to harmonize. There is no right or wrong way to play them. The intention of this piece is to repurpose your smartphone for deep listening, creative experimentation, and to immerse groups of people in a sound and light environment with face to face interactions.”"

This is another recording I made with what is now the spare Microphone and recorder, the Marantz PMD661 and the Rode NT4.  This set-up I leave to record alone while I go off somewhere else to record.  I am usually pleased with what it captures.  In this recording a Wren sings nearby with the sound of the stream never too far away.  Recorded in Ballinvally woods, north-west of Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland.  21st of July 2020 beginning at 5.06am.  Recording 3426.

A cabinetmaker by trade.  I have been recording birds for over 42 years.  Even as a seven year old I loved to hear the sound of birds. 
I believe that birdsong is a perfect reflection of the natural environment and yet a part of the experience of the environment.  
Over the years I have made some wildlife films and videos.  For wildlife recording I have been around Ireland, Wales, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Belize, Guyana, Brazil, Peru and Costa Rica. At the moment I have 26 albums of birdsong/nature, most of which can be found here for free download in high quality F.L.A.C. format.
