Hang On

Sie versuchte, wie immer, zu lächeln, doch es war kein ehrliches Lächeln. Ihre Mundwinkel hoben sich, doch der Ausdruck ihrer Augen blieb leer, gleichgültig. Sie tat es nur, um den lästigen Nachfragen nach ihrem Befinden zu entgehen. Eine Antwort darauf hätte sie auch gar nicht geben können. Etwas beschäftigte sie; nagte an ihr; stahl ihr die Freude am Leben. Schon seit vielen Monaten begleitete sie das Gefühl, nicht mehr sie selbst zu sein. Ihre Gedanken rasten, drehten sich um Alles und Nichts. Gedanken, bei denen sie sich nicht sicher war, ob es überhaupt ihre eigenen waren. Es machte sie wahnsinnig. Ihre Hände verkrampften, als sie sah, wie er zurücklächelte. Innerlich begann sie vor Wut zu kochen, denn sie wusste, sein Lächeln war ebenso falsch wie ihres.  An manchen Tagen war es so schlimm, dass sie ihm am liebsten komplett aus dem Weg gegangen wäre. Seine Nähe wurde ihr immer unangenehmer. Manchmal hätte sie ihm einfach gerne für dieses Lächeln ins Gesicht geschlagen. Wie sehr sie es hasste, von ihm bemitleidet zu werden...
Doch noch viel mehr hasste sie sich selbst für diesen Hass. Woher kam er? Seit wann ist er da? Warum ist sie so leicht reizbar? Weshalb waren ihre Emotionen so unberechenbar geworden? Ihr Kopf war kurz davor zu platzen.

So konnte es nicht weitergehen. Etwas musste sich ändern. Es müsste sofort geschehen, bevor sie vollständig die Kontrolle über sich verliert. 

Doch sollte sich das als schwierig erweisen, denn ihr Verstand gehörte schon lange nicht mehr ihr allein...

This is another fun toon which I hope will get you boppin a bit. It's some tongue in cheek rock n roll / cowpunk relationship counselling from legendary Aussie band the Beasts of Bourbon. Written by guitarist Kim Salmon.

I used my new parlour guitar to play this one. I was quite happy with the jangly chords which I think really suit the tune.

At home producer of electronic tracks in varying styles - I really enjoy experimenting with melding different genres. 
Been writing songs since the mid 70's whilst playing bass & drums in various bands (the first one was a punk band) and digitally writing since 2006. Retired now, so much more time for having fun with music :) It's just a hobby for me these days; Soundcloud is just a great place to share music & connect with people who have the same interests.
