The classically trained singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Will Wiesenfeld first emerged as Baths in 2009. Merging the glitchy, punishing gloom of L.A.’s beat scene with sunnier melodies and a gorgeous falsetto, Baths’ perfect pop became an instant sensation. It was as experimental as it was comforting, a warm blanket made from the rarest linens. Publications like Pitchfork heaped praise on his debut album, 2010’s Cerulean, which codified the sound; Obsidian (2013) chronicled Wiesenfeld’s recovery from a ghastly illness, and received even more raves. While his bittersweet opus, 2017’s Romaplasm, explored the emotional crevices often ignored in polite company or at stilted cocktail parties -- cementing his place in the firmament of approachable but masterful pop songwriters.

Kontra-Musik returns with a new release on its sought after, vinyl only, white label series. The label that from the start has celebrated analogue expressions of dance music, this time presents long time label collaborator PST (famous for brilliant releases on labels like Workshop, Sued and Kontra-Musik).
On the a-side PST brings us a 15-minute-long analogue techno meltdown. The track is so powerful the vinyl almost melts when played. On the flip the mood is different. The title of the first track, Houseparty +, is to say the least very revealing before PST ends the EP with his signature mood music house sound. PST is a master of his craft, and it is with joy and pride we release a new, hand stamped vinyl after a few years of Covid hiatus.

With her Tamil background and her training in Carnatic music, you will hear a fusion of her influences. Her music selection as a DJ defies genre boundaries and aims to get the crowd dancing without blinkers. Expect polyrhythmic, percussive sounds melting into electronic music ranging from downtempo to Trance. Besides DJing she's been an active player shaping Zurich's nightlife for the past three years with the aim to elevate voices of marginalized artists.
