Today we're delighted to welcome Adults to the family (aka Dan, Joe, Joely and Tom). Our story starts almost five years ago when me and Rich were living in Exeter. Tom was also living there at the time and had somehow convinced This Town Needs Guns to play in his living room. It was invite only and me and Richard had to practically beg him to let us come*. In Tom's words "I remember stalking Dave online and thinking his label was pretty shitty but now they're all my fav bands."

TL:DR: Tom is a bit of a shit, but over the years we've grown to admire him.

Back to the future, Adults formed after meeting via school, friends, gigs and drunken late nights talks in clubs in London and Dublin. In their words they bonded over "desperately trying to be adults and desperately trying to rip off other bands." Which leads us on neatly to their debut single released today as part nine of the Postcard Club.

'MSN' provides 3:48 of screeching guitars, girl-boy vocals (sometimes shouted, sometimes landing softly) and most importantly a portal to the summer of 2009. A time when Johnny Foreigner seemed like the biggest thing in the world and no-one blinked an eyelid at band names like Cats and Cats and Cats. At the same time the track's lyrical content harks back even further - the days of everyone's favourite instant messenger. The band have neatly summarised it as thus:

"Remember when every word meant something, every emoticon, every song you were currently playing, hoping someone would notice you. Remember how none of that really mattered but how you can't forget it. Remember staring at the screen waiting for that Mormon girl you fancied to finish 'typing...'. Remember the usernames, sid neptune. Remember saying you were out to lunch when you weren't. g2g mum is using the phone fml x."

*For the fact fans, it was also the first time we met Georgie. Additionally the whole thing was livestreamed on the internet and can probably be found if you look hard enough.

Produced by Joakim Lindberg (Yast and Hey Elbow) at Studio Sickan within old railway sheds outside of Malmö Sweden. Hater tackle their personal experiences of life, love and relationships yet through their shared songwriting there's a togetherness. Synth pop earworm ‘It’s So Easy’ contrasts the slower paced 'I Wish I Gave You More Time Because I Love You' that blends beautiful sweeping sax from Inge Petersson Lindbäck. The haunting metronomic beat of ‘I Sure Want To’ calls to mind local residents Death And Vanilla, Hollywood glamour exudes on shimmering 'Things To Keep Up With' and 'Cut Me Loose' captures those long youthful days of summers gone by.. "Wouldn't it be fun? Noon is halfway and I feel gone".

Hater “boast Marr-esque guitars and vocals reminiscent of fellow Swedes The Concretes” (Norman Records) whilst having the pop sensibilities of The Chills, Alvvays, Snail Mail and Makthaverskan.
In early 2017 Hater released their debut album ‘You Tried’ blending jangle with grit, their recent EP ‘Red Blinders’ (Fire Records) soon followed in support of their first headline tour across Europe. Festivals in 2018 have already included SXSW, Eurosonic and Ment.

In the 1st half of 2018, Wu-Tang Clan fans worldwide were hopeful that the previous sale of the one of a kind Wu-Tang album, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, would change hands from the currently incarcerated owner Martin Shkreli to Wu-Tang affiliate Matthew “M80” Markoff who would release it freely to the public--- to be appreciated by all. In light of Markoff’s 1 million dollar offer, the sale never came to fruition and Markoff like most Wu-Tang fans simply wrote off the notion of the one of a kind album and any chance at ever being able to hear it after that. 

It’s a good thing that Ghostface is a man of the people! Wu-Tang Clan’s own Ghostface Killah will release his new studio album, The Lost Tapes, alongside legendary underground producer Big Ghost on 10-5-18. The collective goal was to bring fans back to the Ironman/Supreme Clientele/Cuban Linx Era sound. Both Ghost’s set out to revive that feeling, update it for 2018 and create another certified Wu-Tang Banger!

The Lost Tapes also features an All-Star Line-Up including; Snoop Dogg, E-40, Big Daddy Kane, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Cappadonna Killah Priest, Sheek Louch, Ras Kass, Michael Rapaport and more.  

Today, Ghostface releases the projects new single, “Done It Again,” via an exclusive premiere with Complex.  Every great Ghostface album has at least one track that shows love to the divine beauty of the feminine species.
