I throw a rope but don’t throw farthest. Happens all the time.

I woke up just last week to find
I lost my place in space and time
I gracefully got back in line
and waited for a friend.

I walked about. I paced inside
my head. Fool not to ostracize..
I heard a sound like ostrich cries.
I raced in, wordless, rended,

I braced and crashed and sent it.
I traced my way through, atlas style.
A book of words to last a while
I’d gratefully give back my pile.

I only want to laugh at my truth.
Just take me back to my youth.
