Goodbye 2014! Hope to never see you again

One of the nicest human beings on the planet, @dorian-concept is also certified nice with the production work. The 2008 RBMA graduate and two-time studio team member has stepped out of the spotlight for a minute following his visionary 2009 LP on Kindred Spirits, focussing more on the background of matters. 

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the piece he offers us as part of @mamikomotto's upcoming Amada compilation serves as a testament to Oliver's inclination to understatement - a delicate, brief-but-patient arrangement of metallic clanking, warped vocal shards and hints of synth-dexterity.

"Empty Everything (But You)" is taken from Amada - a compilation album assembled by Mamiko Motto and @allcitydublin, which also features exclusive tracks by Obey City, Georgia Anne Muldrow, James Pants, Darq E Freaker, Claude Speeed and many more. The album is out digitally on November 8th.

The new album 'Born A King' sees legendary Jamaican artist Sizzla at the breathtaking peak of his musical and lyrical abilities, balancing traditional roots reggae, dancehall, hiphop and global beats with all-out futuristic sounds and production. Focusing 100% of his energy on positive, uplifting and conscious lyrics, Sizzla combines his unique melodic sense and vocal delivery with some of the toughest production ever featured amongst his extensive catalogue. Australian heavyweight reggae and hip-hop producer Mista Savona (Muti Music) has pulled out all the stops, combining his flair for sampling, composition and the full utilization of a ten piece studio band to deliver a scorching 15 track selection that is easily one of the strongest albums of Sizzla’s career. 

To give some background on this project, whilst on tour in Australia we met Mista Savona, a Melbourne based producer who had just returned from Jamaica with a bag of new riddims and an almost-completed album with legendary reggae artist Sizzla. We listened to the tunes and loved the fresh new sounds and very positive feel of the album, with its uplifting messages and inspired vocal performances. Muti Music has been releasing a series of Remix EP's as we lead up to the album's May 2014 release, featuring producers at the leading edge of dance music globally. These have been receiving rave reviews across the Blogosphere, play on BBC, XFM, Sirius and numerous other internet and FM stations, as well as reviews in high profile magazines like DJMAG.

Nighttime brings out the Mr. Hyde in Dr. Jekyll and the S. Fidelity in this Swiss boy living in Berlin.

With his first EP "Five to Nine" S. Fidelity carefully compiled a small collection of gems kept secret – until now. 
Over the course of 8 tracks, he showcases a wide variety of styles, ranging from laid-back instrumentals to rap and futuristic neo-soul. 

For the completion of his debut EP, the 22-year-old beatmaker joined forces with the Berlin singer LaNó and Tokyo's Tajima Hal on one track and Rob Really from Moontroop featuring on a second one. The features add a complementary touch to S. Fidelity's compositions and thereby contribute to the complete range of his sonic spectrum.

In Yamaneko's world, things are rarely as they seem. Although Pixel Wave Embrace is the London-based producer's first release, he's quietly built up a reputation over the last 12 months, with his tracks frequently appearing in sets by Mumdance, Logos and DJ Milktray.

It's an album that deals in illusions: although water is a prominent influence on the record, it's not found in the places you'd expect ('Seabrooke Rise' and 'Primrose Island' have little to do with water), and despite grime being a major influence on Yamaneko, there are no samples from grime records here; instead, he twists samples from the places you'd least expect into the sort of flat snares you'd associate with classic records from unsung grime acts like Imp Batch. Another key part of what makes Yamaneko tick is his love of new age and meditational cassettes; Pixel Wave Embrace was designed for the cassette format and will be released as such.

Pixel Wave Embrace is part of a trilogy of sorts, together with March's Pixel Juice Mix (Yamaneko – Pixel-juice-mix) and a Pixel Healing Spa session which will be broadcast in the lead-up to this album's release.
