Kambua was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. Her love for music was evident from a tender age and has developed into a career over the years. She has worked as an actress for Heartstrings Ensemble in Kenya. She has also been the voice for commercials such as Delmonte, Mumias Sugar, Sunlight, KPLC and recently, Fresha Maisha Milk. Before pursuing a solo career, Kambua worked as a background vocalist for various artistes. 

In the summer of 2007 Kambua completed a summer performance program (certificate) at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In 2008 she completed a BA in music at Ambrose University College, in Calgary, AB- her major being classical voice.

In 2009 Kambua received the Female Artiste of the Year Award at the annual Groove Awards, held in Nairobi, Kenya. She was also the recipient of the 2008 Afro Fusion Female Artiste of the Year award at the Kisima Awards. In the year 2011 Kambua was nominated for the East Africa Music Awards, (London), as well as the 2011 Mwafaka Awards. In 2012 she bagged the Song Writer of the Year Award in the annual Groove Awards. 

 

In March of 2010, Kambua spread her wings by joining Royal Media as a television host on a Sunday morning show- Rauka. She has since worked as an MC at various concerts and events in Kenya as well as being a radio host on Inuka, a mid-morning gospel show aired by Hot96 fm. 

Her musical journey has accorded her the privilege of working with Award-winning artistes such as Daddy Owen, Jimmy Gait, and most recently Anthony Faulkner (US-Based gospel singer). 

Kambua has two albums under her belt- Nishikilie and Nyumbani, and has embarked on her third CD with two singles - Again and Umetenda Mema - already released. The third CD titled “Umetenda Mema” is set for release soon. Before its release, there will be a number of singles and music videos that will be released starting with “Bado Nasimama”. 

“Umetenda Mema” is a project set to encourage people, and be a breath of fresh air in the musical scene.

Aside from more music, Kambua's long-term goals include being a humanitarian voice for young women and children. 

Kambua is married to Jackson Mathu and together are living in Nairobi, Kenya.


I think i have been held back for too long, have this itch to constantly express myself and stay true to what i feel. Music to me is freedom, i am learning...we all are. All i am doing with my music is documenting the journey. 

Bupe is a performing rapper and songwriter, whose aim is to positively influence Urban-African culture through his music. 
Fusing hip hop, pop and contemporal African sounds, Bupe intends to cut across cultural differences and trends with a rich and modern sound. Using his faith as a backdrop, his goal is to spark meaningful conversation with his listeners and speak hope through his music

Five.oh.one is a quartet involved in writing, producing and performing gospel music for all generations. The four members of the group are:
Kelvin Bwamu 
Mutua Matheka 
Gibson Ndirangu and 
Alex Wacira

The group was conceived in hall 5 room 1 in JKUAT in mid 2002 and hence the name five.oh.one. The group has since been able to write songs that have not only appealed to the young but the old as well due to our diversity in style.
We’ve explored various genres of music including rap (hip hop), reggae, rhythm and blues, accapella, swing and the local Kenyan flavor. Five oh one is a group focusing mainly on stage art, vocals and recording of music.

Since the inception of the group in 2002, quite a number of achievements have been made despite the various barriers the group has run into.
The group started as an acapella quintet with most if not all of its performances being in church services and small fellowships.
In the same year the group managed to enroll in the Safaricom star search competition with the specific intention of gaining as much exposure as possible. This being the first leap outside the cocoon, there was a lot of inexperience and naivety due to lack of exposure beforehand.
It’s here that the foundation of the group was formed as a result of the professional training we received from the many professionals that were a part of the whole production.
The end result was that we took the runner’s up position and began our journey. 

God has not only been the major mastermind of our journey but he’s also the core of 
five oh one’s existence. Thus far he has brought us and He is the very reason why we sing. 
The songs written by the group are inspired, one, by life and its many ups and downs and, two, by the most high God Jesus Christ our savior.
