Following on from our first release of the Finest Jungle Blend series, we now have our second instalment from the criminally underrated badboy duo that is ARLO and Scuffed. 

‘75 Degrees’ boasts an interesting and unique take on Jungle style, with precise and powerful break cutting, ringing tones and melodic style 808s, when we first received the demo we were beyond ecstatic to have this gem signed to our newest project.

After a string of red-hot releases on Chronic as well as features on Liquid V, we're proud to welcome Sl8r to V Recordings. His first release on the label comes in the form of a two-track single with fellow Mancunian Slay. Since his first Drum & Bass appearance on ‘No Trust’ with Chimpo, DRS and Ragoloco, he’s left a trail of 170 vibes with artists such as Kasra, Sam Binga and Lenzman.
Continuing in the same vein as his past releases, this single is the definition of rolling, funky Drum & Bass. Track 2 'Falling' sees another familiar Manchester face join the party, Chimpo. With official remixes of legends such as Wu Tang Clan, Zed Bias and Omar, Chimpo needs little introduction.
If vibes like this are a sign of what's to come this summer then our excitement levels should be rising even higher.

“Compilation albums have a special place in my heart and to mark our birthday year I really wanted to release a project that was distinctive and exciting. An album that showcases the diversity of the label, the talents of the many artists we work with and ties together the threads and themes the producers explore.

The 22 exclusive tracks here are a perfect snapshot of the sound that Critical is wanting to be at the forefront of : Underground drum and bass in many different forms but always with that cutting edge.

The physical album is a strictly limited edition 6 piece vinyl box set with artwork designed by Steiner Grafik. The box itself is beautiful with silver ink printed on both the inside and outer shell, the records are pressed on 120gsm virgin vinyl and the 6th plate has a special etching to commemorate the birthday.

We have a deluxe version too which is limited to 100 copies. This includes the album box , a special aluminium print of the artwork, a signed poster, a multi page fanzine designed by Studio Yasseen Faik, stickers and a slipmat. (update: Deluxe box sets have now sold out)

The Chikara Project is a new label launched and managed by Will Marquiss of Mystic State. The aim of the label is to push the finest cuts of electronic music. The label will release various genre’s and styles of music, trying not to be constricted by boundaries. The only running theme throughout the releases will be the fact that all the tracks will be produced by either Mystic State, Elias Traynor or Third Degree. 

'Dreamscapes' is the third track from the 4-track debut release, "If I Could". This will be released exclusively on The Chikara Project bandcamp on the 3rd March.
