This announcement might feel a bit pre-emptive but I think it’s incredibly important. I was actually inspired by the recent DOATK upload to announce this since there’s a good chance you already knew vaguely of these plans. Also the Chazington reckoning kinda coincided with this. 

I’d like to, using the Homestuck vernacular, “scratch” TSCOTY. Considering the sheer amount of shit that has happened that has made a decent chunk of the roster unusable, the amount of retcons and changes already made and the contestants I flat out don’t like for personal reasons, I think this has been a long time coming. I regret so much of it. I don’t think the history of TSCOTY should be completely destroyed or replaced. This entire thing was one big passion project for the things that have influenced or inspired me. It’s been both a love letter and the equivalent of the lines drawn on a doorframe to mark the height of a child.

I’ve already detailed many of the “TSCOTY Scratched” plans on the Discord. There’s been a ton of work done on a whole bunch of tracks on the events of the “scratched” bracket, one that results in the exact same grand finals (Boris is staying, he and Laravieve’s possession/takeover of him are one of the few things I don’t regret). Said work will come out when it comes out, as I’m working on this project alongside DT IR1 (and school). 

Playlists? Will go under considerable renovations. I know LuigiCat11 has cataloged all the tracks of the original run (and also if youre reading this, you should probably make a new playlist for TSCOTY: Scratched). I’m genuinely sorry for fans of Jigsaw, Chonny, Masked Wolf and BD1P but I feel as if change just needs to be made. The playlist changes will all come in due time. Screw Soundcloud for making it impossible to change the order of playlists in relation to each other.
