Takumi Kaneko / Unwind snippet

Love Fever, the infamous and erogenous East London discotheque and record label return with some late night works in the form of Ron Jason' and Kim Ann Foxmans 'Dream Project'.
After Rons paradise garage evoking and much played "Paradise Lost" with Love Fever regular Larry Heards remixes caught the ear of Alex & Andy last year with its depth and sincerity, Ron was tracked down, discovered as Italys enigma Simoncino and connected with New Yorks fly girl and modernist diva Kim Ann Foxman to explore possibilities in house.
The outcome is a raw 5 track EP drawing inspiration from classic Chicago house with the Master C&J evoking "M", a Blue Jeans interpretation on "R" and a melodic yet somber lead Track "E" where you find a modern baseline chugging below analogue synth lines and Kim's individualistic approach to vocals.
The record pays hommage to an era in house lost, deepest Chicago and New York with a not so subtle dedication to long time friend of Rons, Dream 2 Science. With water droppings and sexual intensity harking back to early 90s masterpiece My Love Turn Ro Liquid on "A"

Love Fever is back with one for the heads and with releases ready to role expect a lot more of the good stuff from the label that launched helped pave the way for Bicep and Citizens emergence in house over the last year.

Record will be in shops end of septmember.

1968. France société anonyme. L’incendie est déclaré et tout l’immeuble est entrain de s’effondrer. On ne sauvera rien. Des décombres du vieux monde les enfants de Marx et de Coca Cola surgissent pour arracher le bleu et le blanc au drapeau tricolore. Le fond de l’air est rouge et la musique n’adoucira plus les mœurs. Le chantier peut commencer.

Si les Stones, les Who, les Kinks ou le MC5 composent la bande son de la revolution à coups de singles Molotov, ce sont des noirs américains qui ont fait sauter les digues durant les sixties. Contre le jazz à papa et la tradition occidentale Ornette Coleman, Cecil Taylor, Eric Dolphy, Albert Ayler ou Archie Shepp libèrent alors la note, explosent les formats, se lancent dans des improvisations furieuses qui redessinent un territoire sans frontières, aussi spirituel que politique. Avec le free jazz, le saxo devient lui aussi une machine à détruire l’ordre établi.

1968. France, Incorporated. The entire building was being consumed by flames and was slowly collapsing. Nothing would survive. Out of the rubble of the old world jumped the children of Marx and Coca-Cola, ripping the white and blue stripes off the French flag. Yet, the socialist revolution was more mythic than real and music did nothing to mitigate people’s behavior. It was time for innovation.

While singles from the Stones, Who, Kinks and MC5 provided an incendiary soundtrack for the revolution, it was Black Americans who truly blew the world from its foundations in the 60s. Ornette Coleman, Cecil Taylor, Eric Dolphy, Albert Ayler and Archie Shepp left behind the jazz of their fathers’ generation, liberating the notes, trashing the structures, diving headfirst into furious improvisations, inventing a new land without boundaries – neither spiritual nor political. Free jazz endowed the saxophone with the power to destroy the established order.

'Stand Still' features an extended cast of ‘friends’ including the vocals of close friend Micky Green, the highly respected Sydney-born-Paris-based pop singer whose sweeping melodies add bubblegum sweetness to an otherwise high-tempo single. The final mix also comes courtesy of James David, one half of mysterious UK duo Snakehips. Old friends of Micky’s, Jimmy and Hugo have also chosen to work with another familiar face for the official music video in Director Dave Ma, the creative force behind the ARIA 2013 nominated clip for much lauded single 'Clair De Lune'.

‘Stand Still’ will be available with three incredible remixes, featuring Sydney’s Wave Racer, Future Classic alumni (and Lithuania’s Producer of the Year) Mario Basanov, and New York’s Com Truise, who brings his synth-heavy sounds to the table.

If you've listened to Top 40 radio or flipped through the video channels during the past few years, odds are pretty good you know something about John Legend. He played piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything" and might as well be considered Kanye West's sidekick, having assisted the producer and MC on several sessions — Jay-Z's "Encore" and Slum Village's "Selfish" being two of the more prominent 2004 singles featuring his work. A former choir director, he has also released a handful of energetic live discs, some of which are credited to his less hubristic birth name, John Stephens. And though he claims "I've got something new," you've also heard substantial chunks of Get Lifted in records made decades ago by Sly & the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Quincy Jones, and Bill Withers. This might not be a problem for listeners who crave anything that recalls the music they first heard in their youth, but Legend's over-reliance upon his inspirations is an impediment as much as a slick way to grab attention. That's because he has more than enough talent and charm to get by on his own. His own lyrics and hooks are unique and clever enough to get the point across that he's no everyday R&B artist and, just as importantly, he has a personable and instantly fetching voice you could listen to all day long. However, the association with West — whose Sony-distributed boutique label released the record — is very helpful. Without it, Legend would likely be zoned into neo-soul (2003's Live at SOB's New York City really makes this notion apparent), thereby standing little chance of reaching the ears of anyone younger than 30. The production work supporting his songs strikes a fine balance between soul and hip-hop, allowing him to appeal to those who are coming from either angle. This is a very good record. It's a given that Legend is destined to make at least two others that top it.
