That true beauty lies in the essentiality and meticulous combination of a few elements is sometimes not just a cliché. The delicate blend of Roland CR-78, acoustic guitar and dissonant organs that intertwine in Open Windows is a vivid demonstration of this. It is these few elements, now distant and hinted at and now close and deafening, that paint the backdrop of melancholic nostalgia where laconic whispers move the listener within the paintings that bear the sonic signature of Human Figures. To Daniel Lewis' new project, which has seen its springboard through releases on the label of his friends at Frigio Records, perhaps the adjective "new" is already quite tight. He has built a very recognizable sonic tibre, an influence of producers and listeners at different latitudes of the post-punk and wave scene. 
In the 8 canvases of Open Windows the folk tradition is repainted in a more contemporary guise: the sweet and sad litanies are alternated with fast and frenetic stornelli in which the combination of tradition and experimentation constitutes the stylistic signature. The open window through which the listener has the opportunity to look out in this album does not, however, give onto a natural external panorama. It projects into an inner world where introspection and silence are the only chance to grasp its sublime beauty.

Imagine a smoke filled valley… the only visible mark of a civilization being a single path ahead. A source of hope and inspiration, beckoning only to wither into the darkness and depths. Slowly you march forward, each step echoing through space like a shamanic drum strike, the footfalls catching and building off each other as if seemingly competing for your attention. On and on the journey goes, but ah! In the distance, there appears a faint light, pulsating slowly. With each step, it’s luminescence and your energy grows, there may be salvation near…

If music could paint a picture, then I imagine it would be something similar to the above for JxF aka two Delayed favorites, Javier Marimon & F-on. Their contribution to the 8th installment of the French imprint, Accents Records VA series truly has a feeling of gravitas. One that we love, oh so much. In addition to Javier, and F-on, we’d be remiss in not mentioning the time and effort that Johan Bonnefoy aka Sub Accent has taken to assemble this incredible collection of artists. A majority of which we’ve had the pleasure to work with over the years. So many familiar names, so many wonderful people!

PREMIERE: JxF - 02 [Accents Records]

𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒆: ROTUL - Fire Of Ego [SC008]

A few days ago, Undefined Human 2024_33 (UH) was caught by Margotian patrol while attempting to repair broken equipment outside an international space observation platform. 

The Margotians were on a mission close to the Earth and spotted UH having trouble with his air suit. They decided to rescue him. 

Margotians have observed humans for quite a long time now and have a lot of questions regarding their lifestyle & philosophy. Although Margotians are more intelligent than humans and benefit from a more advanced technology, they are unable to determine if humans are fundamentally bad and cruel. 
Their contradictions are complex. How is it possible to hurt the people you love ? How is it possible to destroy your living environment leading to the death of your species? 

During their observation phase, Margotian engineers designed a programme to help answer these questions. 

UH_2024_33 will be the first beta - tester of the programme as the first human entering the simulation. UH_2024_33 is a good fit, because of his own history: enrolling in the space station in order to flee his past, the bad things he did, the suffering he felt, the fears that he held. 

In the simulation UH will relive the key moments of his life. The programme will scan his memory to search for moments unique to him, in particular those that formed his character. The humiliation, tenderness, shame, anger and joy that he has felt from the moment he tore into the world. 

These scenes of life will be replayed many times, each time with different parameters and from a different starting point. 

Would UH respond the same way if some parts of his history are omitted ? Or if certain social variables and constructs are removed? 

Would UH be able to see the bad things he has done, the fears he holds, and recover from them? 

Would these experiences and the knowledge that he acquired from them help him to find peace? 

After a few runs, the simulation started to drift, like a chaotic system producing unpredictable behavior. The Margotians could not believe it. 

UH managed to survive the meteorites of his anger, dodge the magnetic field of his fears, pass through the asteroids of his remorse and guilt. The nebula of his anxiety vanished. 
Finally the eclipse of his ego disappeared and a shiny planet appeared. 

This was Planet Margot, innocence rediscovered. A new territory able to reinvent itself, free from dominant societal norms that trap spirituality and creativity. A land free from excess and exploitation where you can only seed your wise. No fences to divide differences. No room for individuality. 

After running the simulation on a wide range of humans, Margotians realised that Planet Margot exists inside every person. 

The Margotians decided to follow their analysis by creating PlanetMargot and populating it with all the humans inputted in their program, taking them back to theirundefined, innocent state. 

What will happen to these people? Who are the Margotians?

Fjäder aka Ida Matsdotter, is a Sweden based artist and producer. Influenced by shamanism, science, astrology and forces of nature, Fjäder has developed a deep hypnotic enthralling sound of her own.
Besides the devotion for the monotone vibe of techno, her palette ranges further. Inspired by the surroundings, she moves between black and doom metal influences to ambient, including features such as poetic elements, vocals and field recordings.

Regardless of genre, it is fascinating the way Fjäder connects nature and technology. How she perceives vibrations in universe and transform them into new soundscapes by playing with frequencies, textures, layers and filters.

Through her music Fjäder creates new dimensions and realities. The listener get caught directly, the mind looses track of time and space, floating around in new directions, but when least expecting it, the listener wakes up from the hypnosis and reaches consciousness.

Expanding the universe of minds, Fjäder also has the gift of reaching out and connect to the listener when playing. Using the glow and passion for music, she creates a unique vibe present throughout her set.

Regardless of style, DJ- or live set, Fjäder clearly shows the musician inside her, always true to her own heart, she pushes herself and reaches new levels by experimenting with filters, energies, atmospheres, moods, genres and temper.
Amazed by vibrations and the broad repertoire, the listener gets caught in motion, trapped and released simultaneously, from beginning until end.
