Awfully Civilised marks a significant milestone for Broken Bear as it represents their first collaboration with a producer outside of their ranks (whose recent credits include Blur, Massive Attack, Tom Grennan, and James Bay!). This collaboration has allowed them to infuse new life into their already unique sound, resulting in a track that promises to captivate audiences with its emotive lyricism and innovative soundscapes.

Broken Bear’s signature dark, melancholic, moody, raw, and grungey style has captured the attention of BBC Introducing and Tom Robinson's BBC 6Music Mixtape and has garnered them comparisons to iconic acts such as Nirvana, Radiohead and Fleetwood Mac.

Soul In My Pocket is an experimental project from the new producer FARRIN, not officially released anywhere other than this video. Taking inspiration from multiple genres including house, garage, techno and ambient, FARRIN set out to create a chuggy, chilled and uplifting deep house track with ambient sounds, representing his new entry into the music scene. With limited experience and knowledge, but full of ideas and energy the new producer is hopeful that the song will be well received to build his confidence and continue to experiment with music production and future releases. Chimpanzee’ is the earliest written track on the album, inspired by country influences and Bonneville’s experience of moving away for the first time. Looking out of a high-rise flat in Oxford Street Manchester, Bonneville felt like the chimpanzee shot into space in the 1960s. Many will relate, floating away on this melancholic melody and meeting the Chimpanzee and Bonneville in these feelings of being lost and confused.

Someone once told Faithful Johannes that his live show was like watching a man forced to rap at gun point.  He took this as a compliment at the time, but is not so sure anymore.

He makes spoken word songs and the accompanying electronic music.

He lives in Durham City in the North East of England.

He takes his ironing board to his gigs.  It has been mistaken for a surf board.  Johannes does not surf.  He holds up large signs to help annotate his narratives or reinforce the choruses and gives out personalised notes to audience members.

In 2018 his Ghosts in My Attic, about an unsuccessful attempt to clear out his loft, was voted North East song of year.

In 2019 Johannes released his debut album Thrills & Bills on Win Big Records.

He has vowed to put out a Christmas single every year until his death.

He has received support from BBC Introducing shows in the North East and Teeside and national airplay from Tom Robinson and Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music.  

He has played outdoor festivals, house shows and much in between on varied bills with rappers, poets, electronic artists and guitar bands.

In 2020 he has a new EP in the can and is working on a concept album.  He wrote the feel good hit of the summer, but his computer died and he lost everything.
