Bogota-born, Berlin-based Tania Humeres Correa aka @thc_dj has perfected the art of high-energy sounds that get big room crowds close together. The Rinse FM host has her own party series La Noche with Byron Yeates and sibling DHC, and with the latter plays back-to-back as S-candalo. Acid, potent rave bangers, vocal gems and deeper delights all feature in her sets which always look to combine an unbridled sense of party with plenty of emotional nuance.

This week's mix was recorded just after the start of festival season so is aimed at getting your summer started in style. Staying true to her signature house sounds with plenty of warmth, euphoria and rolling grooves, it's a perfect representation of her ideal dance floor soundtrack. While leaning towards the energy of the main stage and "anthemic vastness," her selections never forget about the all-important elements of intimacy and soul which help the beats make a lasting impression.

Bassiani 9 hours 😱 live mix to kick off 2o25 💕💕

I’m releasing a ‘shorter’ version inc. room recording out of my 11h set from the legendary Horoom. For so many reasons it was one of my most joyful / meaningful sets I played in 2024. It was a Hydrash collective queer celebration started with a ball, a freestyle voguing dance session and a performance that led to my all-night-long set. For the entire 11h there was a true sense of togetherness and the energy was beautiful. I hope this energy comes through in the recording 👂✨ 

With a bitter taste, it all happened under the shadow of a new anti-LGBTQIA laws which a right-wing government had been preparing and fully enacted just two months later. These laws effectively criminalize being openly gay and label anything related to LGBTQIA+ identities as propaganda. The government as well prevents the freedom of the Georgian people to join the EU and using unlawful tactics to control the population will, including aggression and arresting of protestors. 

Tbilisi’s dance music scene has long been a powerful driver of change. Today, the club community is taking a stand, going on strike, and protesting in the streets. How can we support them?  fka.m4a returns with their anticipated sophomore EP, Rapture in Bloom. A sultry, unapologetic exploration of feminine power, pleasure, and intimacy, the project blends the pulse of house music with a narrative-driven journey of desire and connection.

Inspired by the intensity and beauty of female sexuality and empowerment, Rapture in Bloom follows the arc of a story: a powerful woman meets a lover in a club, and through grit, sensuality, and euphoria, their encounter unfolds with escalating intensity. Musically, the EP draws on deep grooves and sensual textures, weaving the influence of ‘90s house & techno into the fabric of contemporary house.

Threads of Desire

Berlin-based, London born DJ & CONTR4ST Label owner, fka.m4a has become a stalwart of underground music with a heady blend of Italo, high NRG and House. With several Boiler Room appearances under his belt - clocking up over half a million streams combined - plus shows everywhere from Berghain / Panormar Bar, Timewarp, Tomorrowland to Awakenings, features in Mixmag and Electronic Beats, plus Peggy Gou in his corner as a mentor, his stock is firmly on the rise. 

Born in London, music was always front and centre in his family home, his mother playing music to him through headphones while he was still in the womb. Citing acts whose USP was female empowerment as the first music he found for himself, the likes of Spice Girls and Lil Kim were early musical influences, eventually leading him to start DJing on the queer scene in London. 

“I was working on the Soho & East London circuit” he says. “I was mainly doing guestlist and hosting but eventually they asked me to DJ and I spent a few years cutting my teeth on that scene.” 

Learning how to work a crowd as a pop DJ, seeing Honey Dijon DJ on his first trip to Berlin in 2016 led him down the rabbit hole of electronic music and led to a shift in his focus. 

“I completely fell in love with the storytelling element of her set,” he says. “I spent the next year immersed in dance music culture and started playing the electronic room at gay nights.” 

Moving to Berlin in 2019, the pandemic quickly put a stop to his burgeoning DJ career before a switch to recording streams from his apartment during covid saw his profile blow up, leading to signing with an agency and bagging his first Panorama Bar set when lockdown lifted. 

With Peggy Gou taking him under her wing and asking him to regularly open for her (“She’s helped me out so much and we have a really strong relationship,” he says. “She calls me her daughter and I call her my mother,” he laughs.), fka.m4a’s schedule got hectic with sets everywhere from Warehouse Project to Sonar and a focus on producing their own music. 

“It’s important for me to make music that works in the club,” he says. ‘But most importantly, it’s about making something that comes straight from the heart. I think I’ve achieved that on my first EP and I can’t wait for people to connect with it.” 

With an event series in the pipeline and a summer stacked with festival shows from Hï Ibiza to Terminal V, fka.m4a has firmly cemented himself as one of the leading artists in the underground space.
