Josephine Moriko is in Sweden. innerinnerlife is in Poland. ‘Emociones / Prior’ is in the world, and out on New York City’s OST.

The dark balearia of ‘Emociones’ marries innerinnerlife’s warm, slowly unfurling synth pads to a yearning, autotuned Moriko vocal, swirling and swaying in the sultry riptide of the instrumental. It’s drama in slow motion, a heart-stopping moment caught and crystallised in memory, played and replayed again and again.

‘Prior’ walks a dimly lit route, white linen on a nighttime beach, inner turmoil by a romantic backdrop. Moriko’s coldly intoned vocals carry secrets and intrigue, whispering about longing and addiction over a flickering phantomscape. It haunts and hits in equal measure.

It’s a gripping statement piece from two artists with rare, idiosyncratic points of view and frames of reference. Two songs forged under candlelight and sculpted from afterglow. Two songs that hold a shadow world of style and seduction, passion and poison, black roses and green-eyed envy. Two songs made to transport. Two songs for you.
