Which color has the music arising from an interaction between South American and Eastern European musicians? FairyCats, an itinerant laboratory of languages and sound sensations born in the streets of Paris, has the acoustic spectrum of a cultural collision.

Gypsies by nature, the inspiration for their sound emerged from their personal music peregrination background. Their compositions with lyrics in Russian, German, English, Bulgarian, Portuguese and French, reflect the mixed exotic soul of the collective. 

Strings and voice trace back to a life path leading through Austria, Norway, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region of Russia. Irina Guldt, whose ear traveled through the cryptic sounds of Eastern Europe, gives the songs their enchanting chords and multiethnic messages.

The wind instruments are the breeze coming from South America and the Mediterranean region. Influenced by the vibrant musical environment of several Brazilian and South American cities he lived in, as well as his contact with the hypnotizing sound of North Africa, Balkans, and Medium Orient, Frederico Alabarse’s melodies enrich the mystical swing atmosphere of FairyCats’ mechanical waves.

A dynamic and energetic percussion gives the sounds deepness and dimension. Selected Brazilian percussionists and guests improve the band’s beat and harmonies by adding dynamic rhythms: samba, funk, maracatu, samba-funk, forro, olodum, samba-reggae, afro-samba, in between others. Ça groove!

PRODUCTION

CINEMATIC
My production is intuitive, electronic diary of current mood. I draw inspiration from my surroundings and each cinematic track is created within one, live session.  I make unstructured tracks and I don't follow any rules.

TECHNO
I am releasing a set of EPs called RAVING DISGRACE during 2026 under new my alias Møkki . Working on new remixes too. My techno is combination of  sounds with industrial, urban edge. Techno tracks are inspired by Rave the Planet (Love Parade)experience in Berlin 09.07.2022 and I have to mention Trade and UK hardhouse scene from the 90s; London rave scene will always be my source of inspiration. I make my own loops and play sequences live on each track.

WHO AM I? 

Møkki held residency the infamous queer promotion DYKE HARD 2016-2022 under his other alias D'LASSO. He is highly influenced by TRADE and  Berghain, 2 most famous queer clubs in the world. Berlin techno scene in general does it soooo well and Helsinki UG scene. In 2009, I played for TRADE@MOS and other big promotions like Smartie Partie. Some goal were met, but I love still illegal raves the best. 

For most, I am well-known of having held residency at THIRST BAR in London SOHO (under alias dlassso),where I introduced dirty sounds to more commercial crowd. I have played from warehouse parties to my own promotion HOURS alongside Djs like Jo Mills(Circoloco), Natalie Coleman(MOOCH), David Jimenez(Orange), Fillth and Splendour, Little Andy(Detroit Starzz),Alex P and Lisa Loud(to name the few), and have played in most clubs in London.
